Hell ya. I don’t know why so many went with the story he was staying. Probably just for views and clicks. Should have been obvious Langdon is not messing around with stooges like Monty’s and guys that can barely speak like umm ummm weaver. Vinson has nothing to do with Monty. Never did.

I wonder if they waited this long to fire Monty, because they were looking for a coach, and found a suitor. Do you fire monty without knowing youre going to be able to get the coach or one of the coaches you want? I bet they already know who they are going to hire.

When it comes to Chris Quinn, I hope he thinks to himself that Coach Spo will likely be the Heat head coach for the next 10 years if not as long as Coach Pop. If he doesn't want to live in Coach Spo shadow for a decade plus in the league, then this is his shot to make a name for himself by coaching a young team, coming in as the hero. And he's going to get a bag on top of that.

Too bad that there wasn’t a former pistons player that is a younger coach that has that fire in him to come home and bring the pistons back kinda like MC/DC with the Lions.

Casey could be used to let the new coaches know about every player. What they can and cannot do because he has been here for it all. He would be great to help things go smoothly. I've always liked Stackhouse and think he would be great but I think Quinn would be my first choice.
@pheralanpathfinder48974 ай бұрын
I argued against firing Casey. We should have kept him for a couple years and ask him to mentor our next HC and slowly hand over responsibilities. Even if Billups didn't except such a deal someone else would have done so. Next up Trajan needs to replace our medical staff.

There's a lot of people celebrating this firing, but the Pistons' problems weren't all Monty's fault. The Pistons organization from ownership to players has been in disarray since the death of Bill Davidson. Gores has hired big-name guys for both the front office and coaching staff with no success to date. Bill Davidson established a team culture and identity that has been missing since his departure. There's ni guarantee that Langdon tenure will fare any better than Troy's, but once again, we hit the reset button, so we'll have to wait and see.

Right, but Monty was incapable of developing young players at all. We may not be great for years to come, but at least we have hope for a coach who can develop young players. Every young player regressed under Monty, that can't happen on the 3rd youngest team in the league.

I can tell you right now, that's NOT how they view Monty. The reason he was fired is because of how the young players regressed this season, that's it.
