@EABOY2600 the old dogmen called them Bulldogs. We still call them Bulldogs and Hounds till this day. The American Staffordshire terrier became their own breed in 1930's. You can't breed a American pit bull terrier and American Staffordshire terrier together and call it a American pit bull terrier. That's not how it works. Am staff are Am Staff. They will not out work the American pit bull terrier. My Am staff were Goff/Watchdog and my American pit bull terrier were Tants Yellow and Yellow John on the bottom

All I have for this is oy. All of these dogs, regardless of breed are trained very specifically in protection work which is a very controlled type of training. You don't just get a dog and say okay go for it bite and call it a protection dog. Dogs trained for protection, search and rescue, nose work, police work, ect are all trained to recall on command, attack and break on command, and a variety of other skills that are highly specific. This isn't a dog just looking to bite someone to bite them. This dog is given a task, and when the task is completed he will listen to his owners command to break and return to his owner. To think this dog, because of his breed, has now been trained to bite and will now bite whilly nilly is just ignorant about the breed and the training that goes into it.
