@@YoAlby i bet if you lived out in the country it would be easier to train them off the leash. Our boxer is a city boy. When he was a puppy he got off the leash a couple times and had some close calls with cars but came away unscathed. When we take him out in the country he does totally fine off the leash. I think in the city there is just too much commotion and smells for him to handle and he will just get sensory overload and take off, so we always keep him leashed.

I’ve had four of them. The only one we trained, and even that was minimal was the first male I had. By 4 months, he did everything we asked of him. We got three other ones over the years, and they basically self trained off the older dogs, even after our first one had passed. There is only one key to training them. Exercise! 2/3 long walks minimum a week. They need to be entertained and if you don’t do it, they will entertain themselves

Boxer dogs are fantastic family dogs! So love giving and cuddling! I once saw a free running pitbull charging against a boxer in a leash. The owner of the boxer realised the danger and unleashed his dog. The boxer was absolutely furious running straight towards the pitbull and knocking it down in pure force/weight/strength. The pitbull immediately realised it was game over and rolled onto his back in submission. No further fight. A couple of minutes later they started relating. Interesting how (mentally well) dogs can settle the score so easily. Not having to get into a bite fight.

The Boxer was in "protection mode" because of the baby. My Boxer - "Big B" - was the same way. He would always position himself between the kids and anything he percieved as a potential threat to them. Never the attacker but always the protector. He wasn't trained that way, it was pure instinct.

Boxers will protect its owner from other dogs. I had a boxer was walking him around 5am & my neighbor was walking his dog off the leash as usual & my neighbor's dog is friendly & i didn't see him but my boxer did & i only had my boxer a couple of days. When my boxer spotted my neighbor's dog he protected me broke the leash went after my neighbor's dog. My neighbor's dog is an older Serbian German Sheppard Husky only understands commands in Serbian.

My roomate for many years has a boxer that pretty much belongs to my brother and I as well because we have all lived together off and on since he got the dog 10 years ago as a puppy. One day we took him to the dog park and a pitbull tried to run up on him and attack. Caliber, thats the boxer, reared back on his hind legs and gave him the old right hook with his paw and popped the shit out of the pitbull before the pitbull could lunge. It straight up knocked the shit out of the pit lol and stunned him, the pit backed off and his owner came running up and apologized and we were like no we're sorry, our boxer just knocked the shit out of your dog lol... the pitbull was all chill after that and as they walked off Caliber hiked up his leg and took a big piss to show him he was boss lol.

@@Ambelica apbt are supposed to be dog aggressive. Once a apbt gets going it's hard to bring them down. Some apbt can be trained to not mind being around other dogs and some cant over come wanting to attack another dog. I put my apbt in training classes for years since she was 8 weeks old and socialized her but she still fights any lose dogs that run up on us. She only gets along with my American bulldog my German shepherd beagle mix and my parmesan Chihuahua mix.

My sister has a boxer, yes he’s a pup at 2 but when I was puppy sitting he cornered a young coyote, but he didn’t know what to do when the coyote fought back. Luckily I had my 49lb APBT in the yard cuz he grabbed the coyotes ear and made it quickly scale out fence! I don’t condone any dog fighting! And wouldn’t want too see these fight. But I’m sure the pitbull owner would have his dog on a leash, so the boxer owner is lucky(I’ll say it again) that the fence was there! I own a boxer and he is the most social dog there is. He likes everyone human and animal. He is very playful but if a dog is mean to him and challange him then he will fight for sure. I walk him off lease all the time end never had a problem. First people are scared of him, he is a very big and massive boxer, but when they get to know his wonderful personality the fall in love with him. Boxers are no fighters they are playfull and very kind hearted.

Really? My boxer is 39kg and its not fat at all, you can see his ribs, his 7 years old almost. Looks a bit bigger than that one for sure.
