Autocorrelation has been used to track submarine movement using band limited random noise generated by the hull. like 10 dB below the ambient noise level. I bet you can use auto correlation to amplify a source sound. in real time. and determine the azimith angle of that source. Spook equipment.

PS: You have mentioned the error as "The filename specified was not found in the MATLAB path." which clearly indicates either you have written the audio file name wrong or you have entered the path wrong.
