Baseball Pitchers Target | 9 Pocket pitching net.
This is a DIY pitchers net used to practice your pitching.
I Built this for my son. We needed a target to pitch into. We did not want to pay $300 so I built one.
This 9 pocket target is good for any age that is working on pitching accuracy. You can also play target games like tic tac toe with a baseball, commonly called tic tac throw. We will use this in our basement this winter.
This is made with scrap 2x4s some extra net and PVC pipe. Instructions are in the video. This only cost about $20. The PVC pipe is all I had to purchase. If you had to buy all materials it would run around $75-100. This was a much better option for us. If we can save on items like this it allows us more funds to purchase baseballs, bats etc.

Use bungee cords to divide the 9 boxes. Over time, the ball is going to break that PVC.

This is a nice solid build. A good tip though....Use bungee cord to seperate the pocket, or something similar.

We are a travel team on a low budget and I knew someone out there besides myself who think 300$ to buy something like is a ripoff! I can build this with 36$ in wood and screws!!! Great Video! Thank you

Did the pvc hold up from the baseballs banging on it ?

Yes it did. next time I would go with smaller PVC though. It works but a little smaller may of been better. I think bungee cords would of worked even.

You could also get some pool noodles to cover the pvc pipes if you think they’re gonna break

It has held. It doesn’t get a ton of usage yet. Bungee cord may work better in the long run

I'm trying to figure out something like this for my son. He's 14 I'm sure that PVC will be smashed to bits in one session. The net wouldn't stay on with being stapled on there. The official ones are so expensive though.

I agree not the most ideal to last forever. My boy is 11 and does not throw that hard yet… nor do we pitch everyday. His main position is infield/ outfield. When it breaks I think we can change it to some bungee cords or something. I have also zip tied the netting and used an air compressor staple gun. My hope was to give an idea of making something at little cost that could be altered as needed. I am sure the $400 one has some flaws as well. Thanks for leaving feed back. Much appreciated 🙂

@@Case.Baseball I'm thinking the wood frame would work, but I'm going to try to use steel cables for the cross members. I still don't know how I would keep the netting from blowing apart.
