There doesn't have to be though, that's why they let him go. What good would it be for their tax payers to pay for him to be jailed and their children to grow up fatherless. If we should jail people for being stupid then you would be at the front of the line.

How the hell do you fly to another country and not check your bags before you go? I check my bags when I drive to MA and NY. This guy isn't a one off. What is wrong with these people?

@@TheMysticBohemian Yes because you are actively protecting yourself and are obviously aware you are armed... This guy had a 4x6 cm box of ammo he forgot was in there. In hindsight, he should have luggage ONLY for the range that never get used in his travel luggage. I don't think making him serve an 11 year prison sentence makes much sense for this infraction.

Part of responsible gun ownership is knowing where & how much ammo you have at all times. If he forgot that those shotgun shells were in his bag is he even certain how many were supposed to to have been in there? Is he certain that one of his children or their friends didn’t remove one or two rounds? Part of his sentence should be a series of gun safety classes.

WE love Guy here in Somerset. He works hard for us here and I also want to Thank Senator Fetterman for his support in this case. I will admit that Senator Fetterman has somewhat surprised me so far, but I wish his votes in the Senate crossed party lines sometimes. But who knows, time will tell.
