I was just there the other night and I can absolutely say that the Vinny pie is just as good today as it was back in the 1970s! Thanks for keeping this great tradition alive!

I remember vinny when I was a kid I went their with my father. And Vincent had his cigarette hanging out of his mouth. A guy asked him to take it out of his mouth as he was making his pizza. Vincent in one action tossed the guys pizza into the trash and kicked him out of the store. He didn’t messed around

In my opinion you were lucky if you got the Vinny cigarette ash in your pizza. That was the secret spice lol

@@djpeteyc my father in law, Jim Styslinger, grew up in Penn Hills too. He's 67 but his older brother, my uncle in law, Joseph Styslinger, is probably your dad's age, maybe 2 or so years younger. Ask him if he knows the name Styslinger.

In the late 80's we went here many times. Vincent was manning the ovens with a cigarette in his mouth..always. Pizza was really good..Heavy and loaded; very good. Glad someone has taken over after Vincent was no longer running it.

The Vincent's in Plum Borough, PA was the last true standing Vincents before they remodeled the OG restaurant. Kimmy, Val and Chris really knew how to make great pies!

😱 It's Mozz/Provolone blend. Most pizza places do this. That's what makes their pizza stand out

Normally, I would agree. I like a thin-crust pie, however, Vincent's is an exception. His crust tastes so good..never had anything like it any place. From 1989 to 1991, we owned a hot dog place down in Pittsburgh called Fat Franks in the Strip District. On our off days, we always headed out to Vincent's. We had some great talks. RIP Vincent. It was so heavy he used packing paper and cardboard on to-go orders. Not to change the subject, but so nice to hear these comments from people who are from the Pittsburgh area. Who loves Tessarro's in Bloomfield? Best burgers I have ever had in my entire life and I am 78! Go Steelers!

@@BaahBen Betos is pretty good too, and Frankies in Lawrenceville has the best hot sausage sandwiches.

@@marshalljimduncan So I recall Beto's on the South Side? Also, one going into the tunnel? Squares of really good pizza? Never been to Frankies in Lawrenceville but I already know you know what you are talking about. Next time we are up to visit my sister..we're there! We had a restaurant in Pittsburgh down in the Strip District called Fat Franks in the late 1980's. My favorite restaurant to this day in Pittsburgh is Tessaro's on Bloomfield Ave. Never had a better burger and I am 78 and have eaten burgers all over the country. Well, there was one equal to Tessaro's called Bobcat Bites in Sante Fe, New Mexico that many many people knew about. Sadly, they closed.
