The ruins of a bright, celebratory environment suit Tommy’s arc so well: a bright kid who was beaten down and ripped apart and fought to retain even a shred of cheer. Love how the refrain “whatever” was ominous when Dream used it to dismiss why no one showed up, but then it got WORSE when Tommy realized Dream lied…*and doesn’t care.* This is fantastic!

I have so much to say, but first of all, the fact you did the entire song with AMAZING linework just raises this video's quality to the extreme. It's so beautiful, and you draw expressions on very, very well - the smiles are unsettling, the anger is so clear I can hear Tommy's frustrations at 1:41 (and when followed by _only_ Dream's smile, this is good, this is a piece of art), and Tommy looks tired and done with everything, but he still endures them. Being alone on his birthday, Ghostbur being killed (and the flash of Wilbur's "My Sunrise? Chills to the bones), and Wilbur constantly fighting Quackity, dragging Tommy along with his problems. The balloons have Dream's face on it, and it's either because Dream supplied those to him in faux kindness or it's Tommy's mental state crumbling. Might be both. 0:43 has got to be one of my favorite frames, because it's right before the chorus and it's paired with Tommy's... sad (is an understatement) expression, which is then followed by a beautiful animation of him getting fed up. Chef's kiss. 1:00. I don't want to talk about it. Just, gut-wrenching, and your art with the "upbeat" music gave it an even more eerie feel. The switch in 1:14, where the color scheme is blue (sadder) with Tommy in the back, watching with (how to describe these T-T?) eyes while Tubbo and Ranboo are happy - OUCH TO THE TENTH POWER. OUCH I AM SCALDED. LIKE, OUCH THERE GOES MY HEART. I may seem to be exaggerating, but when Bee and Boo are then overlapped with SMILES - who wouldn't lose their shit? And I mean this very positively. I love the conflict you've written out in a three minute video. It's gold. THEN THERE'S 2:00. I'm thinking it's when Wilbur says he's leaving to return to Utah, and the consecutive flashes of different colors and then different scenes in 2:08 just perfectly encapsulates the emotions I felt Tommy locked up in that moment. While smiling, oh-so brokenly. Off topic, but your art? 11/10 - wait, NO NUMBER CAN CAPTURE IT. I love it too much T-T. The cut scenes with Tommy (where he slowly gets more and more beaten and bloodied) between the flashbacks gives me intense "this is my villain origin story now" vibes and I adore it. Yes, it causes me pain - but you pulled it off in a... "punched my heart"-esque of a way, and I can't help appreciate. (I will appreciate it lol). The final straw is the memory of being killed by Dream wth a potato, and the way you drew his expression made me say - _oh shit, he's going to blow._ 1:23 and 2:35 has some of the best animation in this video. It's smooth, and clean, and so much more that I don't know how to say. Tommy holding a sword against Wilbur; Wilbur then hugging him - AND YET STILL LEAVING, with the ending of Tommy returning to his failed birthday party, Dream's ghost (from exile) still being there... You wrapped it up into a small gift that, when opened, would punch me in the chin and knock me out. Thank you so much for giving so much effort on this lovely animatic. Kudos for doing the entire song again. I have one complaint; WHY YOU GOTTA MAKE THE BALLOONS SO CUTE T-T?/j (happy birthday

How long did it take you to write this? Don't get me wrong everything you wrote is 100% true, but seriously you literally picked up on the majority of the smaller hidden details that I missed when watching this the first time. It seems you have a great eye for details and I can respect that.

@@painfulfirebird2905 I have to admit- I follow this one manhwa animator, and I would always regularly leave essay-long comments like these to show my appreciation for their details ^-^! I usually watch it one time, full screen, then play it again while I'm making a comment, so that I can see the little hidden easter eggs. It took me around 15-20 minutes, or so, to type it all out. I probably just got used to it after the third time or so, and I was just super excited with this one cause the song hyped me up, so this one was quicker than others.

omg, the second i got the hint that you were working on this animation i was shaking in my boots out of excitement. I love this song and it fits c!Tommy so well, and yet i'd never expect to be so hyped while the video was actually playing- it was just so cool!! First that caught my eye, were the expressions, all of them are so on point!! Tommy's just borderline all emotions at once lmao ( as he should considering his fragile mental state ) and Wilbur's expressions are all usually calm and collected, unbothered, even, which fits to his character even if he does actually care in that particular moment his facial features hardly ever change. and of course the setting is amazing, first, the exile and the forgotten beach party, then it flashes to ghostbur's death and wil's revival, then it goes by a little bit with quackity and wil arguing and the bench trio, and then the absolute bomb on tommy's psyche with his brother leaving once and for all. once again, all emotions on point, almost made me cry there, you really captured all the emotions necessary to make the viewer emotional themselves. so well done, one of my favourites actually

i have to start this off with a happy birthday! this was an absolute joy to watch oh my goodness me i swear i started shaking in excitement at some point!! the way you illustrate expressions is SO amazing i swear i kept replaying parts to see them. alright, now i have so much to say about this animation because i fucking LOVE the amount of detail you’ve put into it! i’ll be putting timestamps to indicate what part im referring to !! also warning, you might cringe at some of the shit i say LMAO 0:10 i dont know if this was intentional but the balloon strings kinda look like theyre connected to tommy, and that the display of balloons had a smiley face on them earlier,,, am i reaching TT 0:43-0:47 oh my god!! OH MY GOD !! THE SWITCH BETWEEN EMOTIONS?? also poor cake :(( 1:13 the color change was very abrupt and i love it !! i feel like the red in the scene of tommy’s beach party was more,,, angry? and the blue color scheme makes it feel more sadder 1:17 oh beeduo smiling at him :( shit dude,, knowing how tommy was suffering so badly in exile and going back to see bright smiles and seeing that the world was the same? that it wasnt completely shattered by the hands of dream like he did his? GOD 1:22 the transition to tommy’s vomit covered hand to dream’s hand closing the revivebook was so sudden i love it AAA !! 1:29 ah how i love the imagery of tommy being a puppet with the strings and all,,, also another color scheme change !! dreams colors. :) 1:40 FUCK the way the screen darkened in a slight maroon color absolutely sended me i literally just felt tommys emotions in my BONES. hes about to murder somebody and that somebody is dream. or sam idk 1:43 ONCE AGAIN WITH THE EXPRESSIONS mapfall you never disappoint i swear. the pure ANGER u can see on his face shook me to my core holy fuck 1:46 its really depressing to think about how tommy had to see his brother die TWICE. of course he saw his ghost die but still?? you watch your brother get stabbed by your father, and then his ghost gets killed by your abuser, which both happened in front of you??? jeez talk about trauma 1:51 BITCH !! sorry that was on instinct. anyway i like how hes smiling the exact same way he was on 0:38, nice to see his bastardness never left once he got into the prison ! hes the same person, through and through 1:54 oh and to add insult to injury his previously verbally abusive and mentally unstable older brother comes back, probably bringing tommy so many shit memories back 1:58 god tommy looks so sad here and you can see it in the next frame where the colors dull oh my sweet jesus i feel so bad for tommy, it doesnt help how it also hints that the argument wilbur and quackity were having escalated, and probably got louder, and would probably remind tommy of pogtopia and how wilbur would shout at him 2:06 those sequence of expressions just shot me in the heart and stabbed me in my diaphragm. holy shit how are you so good at making me cry??? the gradual shift to a more frenzied expression just RAAAAAAAAAAAA 2:09 these scenes may have hurt me the most in this whole animation SHIT DUDE !! in 2:12 you can see how tommy’s heart is still somewhat intact but you cant see it that well because it cuts off but you can see in 2:19 that his heart is PROPERLY BROKEN. i fucking love how these frames where it shows tommys death doesnt show tommy at the time, cause at 2:12 you can clearly see its not tommy in a lmanburg uniform whereas its tommy at present. its not showing his past self getting murdered its showing the accumulation of those deaths and how it has completely broken tommy. 2:22-2:23 here we are again with the strings ! again, back to 0:10, mayb i wasnt reaching after all LMAO !! oh the cracks in tommys face and hands and most likely his whole body solidifies my last statement oh my fucking god 2:30 THE SWITCHING BETWEEN TOMMY NOW AND HIS SELF IN EXILE IS MAKING ME GO ABSOLUTELY INSANE OH MY GOD,, i think this means that tommy hasnt full moved on from exile and theres this small bit of him inside him that still trusts dream, thinks of dream as a friend. tldr: stockholm syndrome /j 2:35 theres a reason why i love melanie’s scream in this song. the EMOTION !!! i realize im being very repititive but im being fr abt how i love you portray emotion, the way it all builds up, and the expression you drew on tommy for that scream??? ARISVORUGBSJKELJNLD 2:44 youve done it again with the expressions mapfall,,, OH MY GOD ?? the way he looks so frantic, thinking wilbur’s about to khs?? STOP NOWWWWWWW PLEASE MY HEART CANT TAKE IT 2:53 the fucking hug man i cant do this anymore i miss c!crimeboys so much,,, the shit theyve been through hurts my soul their pasts are so intertwined with eachother that even if wilbur leaves, tommy will never forget him. wilbur will never forget him. 3:12 the way tommy comes back to the beach party,, this could mean that no matter what, he always comes back to dream. refer to the statement i said 5 statements before, STOCKHOLM SYNDROME 3:18 regarding the subtitles, i fucking love how instead of it gradually turning red and into caps, it just,,, turns greyer. i feel like it represents the amount of fight tommy had in him. it was bright red and firey, and at the end of the server, when wilbur left, it was just a pile of ashes. in summary: im insane for writing over a thousand words for a 3 minute video ! /j this was just fucking lovely and overall just amazing art, and if i havent mentioned it still, AMAZING EXPRESSIONS AND EMOTIONS!!

Gooosh, I dunno if it's coz I relate to C!Tommy's frustration and anger issues plus inability to express emotions (without being through anger), but the way u portraited those points in his lore and how the frustration built up, Man, I just laughted in the end I don't even know, It felt like laughting from frustration, like GOD-- there was literally NO good ending to the kid, like LITERALLY he HAD to have a restart to have some similarity of freedom. Favorite scenes: 1:18, and 2:35 This is why I subscribed, *this* is why I subscribed! Oh gods, the moment I saw the premiere last night I knew I am going to be in hell once i see this..and I watched it late..haha- Oh gods everything about it, it's too ughh I love your art style, the timing, the colours- everything! The emotions, the movements, the chose of scenes I don't know what to do anymore. I have always wanted someone to relate Pity Party by Melanie Martinez to Tommy's Beach Party because definitely, those are made to be together. I really loved 1:18 how Tommy experienced a flashback, and I barely see artists like include something as gross as that like vomiting, and I just love how you portrayed it- 2:35 was also so so good, just everything, how cc!Tommy played his character so well; breaking down, getting all mad to c!Wilbur, you captured it so well- I love that Wilbur didn't even imitate how Tommy treated him, he handled the situation gently, and understood why Tommy's upset and deserved all the rage and hate. I love that the ending was terrible: c!Wilbur left him, leaving him alone; vulnerable to Dream's manipulation even more. It became a canon that c!Tommy became a stoner after c!Wilbur left, unable to cope from being abandoned, even if c!Wilbur was toxic..Oh gods..happy birthday Mapfall! You're one of my favorite animators, and I wish you the best of days^^
