Longtime Brooklyn residents said they are fed up with illegal street vending on several stretches of busy roads in Borough Park and Bensonhurst.
Complaints range from unlicensed vendors using open flames to cook meat and fish on the Street to people selling trinkets, fruits, and vegetables left outside in the heat.

Yep! I was there the other day. Only place worse is Corona/East Elmhurst/Jackson Heights area along Roosevelt Avenue for a couple of miles. Illegal vendors have taken over,..food selling, stolen stuff being sold, and the area has become a red light district, day and night, with young women soliciting. Crime has gone up in the area too. You can find on KZbin too. It's destroyed the community. Unless the migrant issue is taken care off, this is not going away. Like this news story,..the media also came to the area, then the police cleared people out,.but the cycle continues, where they come back. The police stopped addressing the matter.

@user-dr1ct5uy8c 16 күн бұрын
I have been to that market on 116th. I was interested in buying mud cloth pillows, but when I went on Etsy, they wanted $50 for one mud cloth pillowcase. I was turned off and decided to go to the African market and purchased a few yards of the mud cloth to make my own pillows. The quality of the mud cloth is outstanding. I did have to barter with the vendor, but was able to get a good price. In the end, it was a win for me (and the legal vendor).

I don't see what difference it makes from actual people who are legal in the states. For example on New Year's Eve they litter and have the recycling and garbage crew on the road as soon as New Year's pass. So instead of blaming litter on immigrants you can also blame people who celebrate every year and not clean up after all that drinking and throwing confetti.

@@heypistolero It's everyone don't go blaming it on one race. It doesn't bother me at all since those people are just trying to get by, pretty sad that they're in their 80s and still need to work like this to survive. Meanwhile illegal migrants are swarming in and getting the full vip treatment, from housing, food, shelter and skip the line access to free public permanent housing.

@@karitakon America is a country of law and order. You do not have the right to come here and sell food and other items without having the proper permits. Business owners pay thousands of dollars in rent to operate their businesses and abide by the rules, regulations and laws. Anyone who operates without a permit should have their goods thrown away and they should be arrested and charged with felonies. That will put an end to this issue.

This statement is baseless. If one has witnessed the actions of the people in Rwanda, it becomes evident that this situation is a deception. In Rwanda, individuals demonstrate genuine concern by actively participating in cleaning efforts. Conversely, in New York, neither the politicians nor the residents exhibit enough care for their own neighborhoods to maintain cleanliness.

If a restaurant's permit expires ybone day, they get shut down. Yet this anarchy is allowed to continue.

Where are the Hells Angels or some kind of group that at this point should just take the stuff they’re trying to sell and throw it out, bag it up, anything. It’s probably stolen anyway

This is absolutely nothing new to 86th or 8th. But, some vendors are OD'ing on taking up too much space. Free market capitalism and people picking themselves by their bootstraps.
