Pixel 4 XL vs. Pixel 3 XL Full Comparison!

Today, we do a full comparison between Google's new Pixel 4 XL vs. last year's Pixel 3 XL. For those of you stuck choosing between the two, this comparison should help you decide. Display Pixel 4 XL and 3XL both use OLED displays with 1440P resolution(resolution is slightly different but pretty much 1440P for both). Both 4 XL and 3 XL have 6.3-inch displays but the 4XL is slightly taller and narrower while the 3XL is slightly shorter and fatter. You won't see too much difference between the two from your naked eyes. Of course, Pixel 4 XL has "variable" 90hz display that will adapt to whatever app or activity you are doing and give you very fluid experience. If you tend to play a lot of games, you will be able to take full advantage of the 90Hz that the Pixel 4 XL has to offer but if not, your UI might be just running at 90Hz and rest at 30 or 60Hz. CPU & RAM Pixel 4 XL has the latest Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB of RAM while the Pixel 3 XL has last year's Snapdragon 845 processor with 4GB of RAM. With extra 2 gigs of RAM, the Pixel 4 XL performance is actually pretty darn awesome with scores of 415K on Antutu, which is higher than any other stock Android flagship smartphone with Snapdragon 855. This means Google has really optimized the OS and the RAM to work together and give you great performance with minimal hardware. Pixel 3 XL with 4GB of RAM can bring some havoc at times when playing graphic-intensive games or RAM-intensive apps(such as uploading gigs of 4K KZbin videos from your phone). If you are a power user, you may want to opt for the newer Pixel 4 XL as 6GB is sweet spot for making everything run smooth and lag-free. Battery Pixel 4 XL has 3700mAh battery capacity while the Pixel 3 XL has 3430mAh. There's little difference in battery capacity but the Pixel 4 XL may get a tad more battery life thanks to more efficient processor and operating system(as Android 10 is built for Pixel 4 XL). For normal users, you will do fine on both phones. For power users, you may want to consider another smartphone with bigger battery capacity. Front Camera Pixel 4 XL has one camera while Pixel 3 XL has super wide angle and a standard camera on the front. There's not a huge difference between the standard cameras but the fact that 3 XL has an extra wide-angle makes it very useful for super-wide selfies/videos. For front camera, I definitely prefer the Pixel 3 XL which gives you more options. Back Camera Pixel 4 XL has standard and 2X telephoto camera along w/ software 8X zoom while Pixel 3 XL has standard camera with software zoom also. While Pixel 4 XL has an excellent camera, it is slightly better than the Pixel 3 XL camera, not a ton better. While the 2X telephoto camera is pretty awesome on the Pixel 4 XL, I personally find it unnecessary since digital zoom on the Pixel 3 XL is already excellent. Rather, Google should have opted to put a wide-angle camera, that would have brought more value to the phone. Security Pixel 4 XL has radar 3D facial recognition while the Pixel 3 XL has rear fingerprint sensor. I love the rear fingerprint sensor on the Pixel 3 XL and it was disappointing to see Google remove it for the Pixel 4 XL. IP Rating Both phones have IP68 rating meaning you can dunk it in water or go swimming with it. I have swam with all my IP68-rated phones in a pool and have never broken a single phone. Wireless Charging Wireless charging is great for both phones and it is compatible with most wireless chargers out there. Sound Both phones have stereo speakers, Pixel 4 XL has slightly richer sound. @@strangeralex3330 not lagging at all. Battery Life is okay. Nothing special. I can survive one day with 1 charge. The only thing that pisses me of is that Google Maps always needs WiFi Scanning. If you forget to disable it, it just drains your battery but this issue" has every phone.

Original pixel XL is fine too. You don't need this crap. I got given the 3xl and I have mine away to my brother but tbh it's all surprisingly similar. Just remember to switch off all tracking, advertising, monitoring etc, this takes about one or two hours but well worth it!! If you look at the amount of information Google holds on you, it's shocking! Every place you have been to, every thing you have bought, everything you were doing before you bought it, every video you watch, every holiday, every picture you take, every search you make! They can use this information for now just to manipulate you to buy stuff but they can use the same information to influence any decision like who you vote for, what social groups you are encouraged to join etc etc, send crazy but they knew this all along and use the same strategies gambling companies use to target vulnerable minds, the human mind is a vulnerable mind

I the same as you. Seen a durability test on the Pixel 4 and it was bad. In a bend test using your hands, the frame snapped. When I am done with my pixel 2 xl. I will get a Pixel 3 xl unless next model is better.

That's the question I've been trying to answer..my 2XL is paid off and just got a replacement one...I'm stuck between getting a 3xl or getting the 4... the lack of fingerprint is one thing that's off putting but the talk of bad battery has me on the fence the most..I can live without the 90htz I'll turn that off but if this new radar stuff is such a drain then maybe I'll get the 3xl and hide the notch...or just get the smaller 3

I got the Google Pixel 3a XL and I love it. It was a major step up from my Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (yuck). Plus it has a bigger display which I like because I watch a lot of KZbin videos and that large display is perfect, plus I have long, thin fingers and it feels nice in the hands 🤗😆.

3:45 So you didn't know AnTuTu V8 gives a higher score on every phone? My OnePlus 7 was getting 380k on V7, then 450k on V8. I'm pretty sure every phone with SD 855 will get past 400k now, since AnTuTu V8 is slightly different at scoring... The Pixels have a quite low scores compared to other phones, each year the same thing happens, lower scores despite having stock Android, isn't it supposed to give better peformance?

@@eo6255 it's still great in terms of speed, audio and photography. But two main downsides; battery performance is not that good and 4 gigs of RAM is not helping much in multitasking. Third app if not the second is constantly killed to reserve some of the limited RAM. So to conclude I think it's still a good device for those who own it but not for new buyers, especially due to the fact that it's software support shall end by October 2021, so it's close to it's cycle end.

So far I decided to keep hold of my 3xl I feel that Google became ignorant and I do not like it. Similar situation happened with 6p to 1st gen Pixel transition when they have taken bunch of stuff and bumped the price. Then I got small Pixel for my gf, but this year's small Pixel is a joke with battery so it's double no for me. Hopefully they will learn and pack 5 series with ultrawide front and back and upgrade battery capacity by a lot!

Usually digital zoom gives you 0% more details and 0% less noise from distant details. Even Google's "super resolution" zoom isn't noticeably better than digital zoom, it was mainly a marketing stunt. Google's "super resolution" zoom gives you maybe 1.1x lossless zoom at best, possibly even less. In some cases Google's "super resolution" zoom is even worse than a crop. Note that 1.1x would be already equivalent to the details of a 14.8 megapixel sensor instead of 12.2. Many people don't realise how bad software zoom is. Pixel 3's digital zoom was better than the digital zoom of some competitors because some competitors used too much noise reduction. In perfect light conditions it's nearly the same as digital zoom and competitors can use super resolution zoom as well. By the way Night Sight already uses the "super resolution" technique at 1.0x, so zooming further than 1.0x is basically just digital.

If you buy a pixel 3 you will get unlimited original saves. If you get the pixel 4 you only get unlimited high quality but not original saves). Even IF you had the pixel 3 when you use the pixel 4 you lose the unlimited high quality. If you put your sim card back into the pixel 3 then you get the offer until it expires. I think 2022. But I don't remember. I ended up only keeping the pixel 4 XL after buying it as an open box with the current discount of 150. Total of 650. Plus tax. You can get the pixel 3 XL cheap at Best buy open item for like 420.00.

yes , both 4 and 4 xl are a tad under done , looking at a comparison of battery endurance to a Real me x2 which has 855+ , 90 hz display also , but no soli , the difference of endurance is 20 hours with the 4 xl being less than good imo . Between the 4xl and the one plus 7t pro , it is 27 hours in the 7t`s favor , 7t = 100 hours endurance rating , 73 for the 4xl . Even the galaxy S7 edge got a better endurance rating by 14 hours with a slightly smaller battery . No way to sugar coat it , google screwed up with the hardware choices on the pixel 4 models . .

I won't even recommend the Pixel 3XL for my enemy. I wish you were making this comparison using the Pixel 3 instead of the 3XL. I believe Google would discontinue it soon and leave the Pixel 3.

pixel 4 is bad not worth it. number 4 in chinese is bad number. so i will avoid anything with number 4. plus no more unlimited original photo quality is a BUMMER !!

Ugly 4xl with that bezel,looks old
