I really enjoy watching your 'real time' videos rather than condensed shorts. Watching you solder / desolder and replace components in real time gives the viewer a better understanding and appreciation of what you do. A 'short' video although well edited and entertaining does not have the same gravitas and fails to show your skills off fully.

I am a manager at a repair shop and have run into multiple 4XL with the same issue every day. It is actually a faulty battery that causes the issue. New battery and cowling with wider rubber pad will fix the question mark on battery. Google also has an extended warranty on the 4xl for this issue.
@fuckenoathcunt4230

Their warranty is bogus. Refuses phones with cracks and scratches. They do anything to not take responsibility

hello i bought my google pixel , supposed to be new and this started after a few drops , does it means that the battery was a faulty one ? i took it to the repair shop and they said the battery should be replaced , can i trust them ? because i wondered if this can't be related to the battery connector

@@nothingsclearmgl6639 Yes it can be related to the battery, or the connector on the motherboard.

Your end music has changed, it was so you and your channel. People in the past have commented as to how upbeat it was. I just living in the UK, have learnt so much from not only soldering, but also understanding electronic components! I just find your videos so fascinating. I used to paint miniature paintings, it was intense, hard work but rewarding. The work you do on such a small scale, is amazing.

The aluminum shielding was a good technique Sir. I know that when you are that close to other soldered parts and using a heat gun, you have to keep the board level and horizontal until the solder is cooled so the other parts don't slip off. Wondered about that computer that came in last week that you didn't get completely fixed yet. How did that go Sir? What amazes me is that fact that you never seem to back away from a challenge. You do what others only dream of....................................

As much as I do my own repairs. I also have a good soldering iron with a hot air station and do repairs very similar to the types of repairs that you do. I also troubleshoot circuits just like you do. However it always amazes me to watch your videos. And I hope one day something breaks that I own that I am unable to fix that I can send your way. Trust me you will be the first person I ship something to. Or better yet being that I am from Central California I might as well just drive over and see you in person. Great job thanks for the video

I'm confused on the repair. What will I need to do to repair my connector? Did you just use heat to melt the solder to get better connector to the motherboard? My 4xl finally died and won't turn on at all. Flashes a "?" And shuts off. I'm desperate to fix it myself as google won't honor it due to a crack in my back glass.

@shqiponjagv
@shqiponjagv 2 жыл бұрын
I have heard him saying that he uses MAX temperature (450 up to 480 degree celsius) when disoldering and soldering components. Well it depends as well how thick is the mother board. He controlls the temperature by going up and down obove the component that he is working on, for example when he needs more temperature he goes closer to the component and so on...
@ShermanMR2
@ShermanMR2 2 жыл бұрын
@@shqiponjagv I’m assuming that you’re talking about Celsius. At almost 900°F on the high end that’s very hot. In this video at that temperature it would very quickly melt the plastic on that connector and that’s obviously not what we see here. That being said I’m not buying that he’s at that high of temperature.

Please help me. I'm using HP ellitebook 2570p i7 3rd gen. It takes time to boot and if does not I will repeat the process, turn off the laptop, disconnect the AC adapter and disconnect the ram. In many case it will not boot until 10 minutes. But sometimes it boots, when it boots, no display but it has some lights on and I heard the fan spinning fast. No display after all but does have a "power". However there some case it is good and not having a problem at all , im just wondering? Another thing I noticed is every time I install a new program It won't let me "restart" my laptop. I should restart my laptop after installing a program because it must. Then it will not restart, not powering on after in cmd: "shutdown/r" or by manually restart, just directly shutdown, like wtf is the problem?

I love your videos! One question, what is the trick so that when using the hot air, all the other components that are nearby do not fly away? My hot air machine can control the air speed and temperature with two potentiometers (from 1 to 5) but when I put in enough air to desolder the component I want, the rest of the nearby components fly off! thank you very much for your videos!

Too much heat, too much wind and holding heat on too long. Always try and point heat away from other components if you can. Also use kapton tape or foil as in the video. Oh and practice on an old board. Good luck.

Temperature isn't hot enough to cause a melt , but enough to soften the metal joints lead of the connector. i guess.

he removed the unleaded solder first, then cleaned up the pads. I am guessing he used low melt solder (rosin's metal) or leaded solder on the pads, so that the pads will be soldered before the plastic melts.
