Pixel 7 pro user here! Absolutely agree with the all points you've said here. I've noticed in the last few months it's producing more heat and less battery life. I also have issues with 4g/5g connectivity where I lose signal where I wouldn't with other phones - iphone 14 pro max and galaxy z fold 3. I do think they could allow more customisation to hide the gesture hint bar, hide the google search bar and put apps there and to be able to move at a glance completely

Started with Google using the 2XL. Probably the best phone I've ever used. And this is coming from a long time Samsung user. Dating back from the epic 4g to the G S8. Upgraded to the 4XL and now I'm using the 7pro. I can't say facial recognition is better with the 7pro. The 4XL facial recognition was noticeably better in low lit areas and when wearing sunglasses. I am not overly impressed with using the 7pro, tbh. I am gonna sit back and wait it out for the P10/G5 chipset. In 2025, supposedly Google is planning to drop Samsung foundry in favor of TSMC. Google will have complete control with development and architecture with the new SoC. They were planning to launch this with the G4 but somehow got delayed. Hoping they follow through with their plans for the P10 🙏🏻

Just upgraded fro the Pixel 2XL which i bought in 2018 to the Pixel 7 pro right now. Agree to the fact that the Pixel 2Xl is one of the best phones ever made. The only reason i had to upgrade is because the charging port started overheating and I can't find the original receipt needed for a replacement from an authorised service centre. Looking forward to the 7 pro experience.

My pixel is starting to heat doing basically nothing. The whole back is 40 degrees and it isn't really pleasant in this heat. I don't like the curved edges and the lack of power, but other than that I really love this phone. Between a very light and neat android and amazing photos I can't really complain. I will probably switch to the 8 if this heating problems isn't fixed by then.

I've had a Nexus or Pixel since the Nexus 6. My biggest issue with my P7P has been Google's inability to drop every update on the 1st Monday of the month, and compete radio silence from Google as to when the update will actually start to roll out. I love all of the features you get from owning a Pixel, but I'd like to see some consistency when it comes to monthly updates.
@deepanshusood6467 Жыл бұрын
I don't get why you want the security update on the first Monday of the month. Google has been pushing updates at a pace where they are actually trying to rectify the issues they find in the device. Little haste could hamper the experience, I'd rather have a stable update than a finicky one even if it takes them time to push it.
@ESCO2 Жыл бұрын
@@deepanshusood6467 I am going to back up your comment here. I don't think people understand how other OEM's take weeks, months or even years to provide a security update/ Android version update. It is a misnomer that you get fewer OS updates on the Pixel 7 line. That will end on Android 16. The S22 released in the same year was on Android 12, got four upgrades, and ends on Android 16. So there is no difference just when phones are released in the yearly cycle. I agree about thermals, all smartphones heat up due to no active cooling, but Samsung-made chips are the worst. But to be fair, the Pixel 7 was released in the year Samsung released the Exynos S22U and that was even worse with thermals, from my year with it. So although truthful, it is only in 2023 that Samsung (main US Android rival) flagships have had better chips, and the Pixel 8 is that rival. So doing a fair comparison, the Pixel 7 Pro, a 2022 phone, competes well with other 2022 flagship phones and was priced much more competitively. A brilliant phone and remains my Phone of the Year for 2022.

I think Google is trying and they're trying diligently to compete with the likes of Qualcomm, but I also think Google has a long way to go before the Tensor SoC will be at a point where it can actually compete with and compare with the Snapdragon processor. Snapdragon processors are far better, far superior, and perform exceptionally well in almost every possible way, even the ones that are a generation or two behind. Despite it being it's 8th refresh for 2023, Pixel phones are still very premature and have a lot of "growing up" to do. The various issues and problems everyone keeps hearing about, to name a few: issues with the fingerprint scanner, phone getting too warm even during lite to moderate use, camera lenses randomly falling out or breaking, the buttons falling out or breaking, stutter while scrolling, general lag, battery drain, the phone getting too hot during video recording especially at 4K60, and the list goes on and on, is quite comical and unacceptable in 2023. I'm definitely not holding my breath for the Pixel 8 series and with all the problems thus far, with each and every Pixel phone to date, I personally don't feel confident enough to be able to rely on a Pixel phone as a daily driver.

Even my old Note 3 Neo got like 6/7 hours. 5 hour SOT is like going all way back into 2012 and all way back to like Galaxy S3 or iPhone 4S. Seriously, why is Pixel trashing battery so much is is bad optimization or Tensor is that horrendous? Also, my A50 just doesn't ever noticeably heat up, unless when gaming. There's something sus about Pixel being warm all time. Whatever that makes it hot, most likely causes poor battery life as well.

Google is doing a legit scam there is no such chip called Tensor 2, it's Exynos 2200. My pixel 7 pro has become buggy and laggy since the release of Android 14. No joke I factory reset the devices 3 times since then but no hope for this bad hardware, main issue is the CPU which is Exynos 2200 it's not Tensor 2 or whatever Google claims all bullsheed, Exynos chips are getting bad after a year using. Thank you Samsung for this job and Thanks Google for using Exynos and calling it Tensor, this %💯 legit scam, not only the phones getting better, scams and claims also getting better by Tech companies every year.

Pixel 8 or Pixel 7 Pro for the same price. What would you choose?
@AbhinavSG Жыл бұрын
Pixel 7 Pro is total nonsense. It has rubbish 5G reception to start with, then there are thermal issues which has it's domino issue over the battery life. Screen isn't nearly as good as the s23 ultra's, either. I wonder why would someone want to use this phone as a daily driver over the s23 ultra/oneplus 11/iphone 14 pro max!! I guess only coz they get some extra perks from google??

Im guessing Google will offer longer software and OS support as more tensor chips release. I doubt they want to support it for their older non-tensor pixels.

I'm using the 7 pro since the last dicember and I love it for pixel experience and its features that objectively I use and they're useful . Obviously s23u and other 2023 flagship are better in hardware performances and a slightly better camera but no have the same software experience that only pixel phones can offer. For my use the tensor g2's performances and battery life are sufficient. But for me the worst thing is the selfie camera, unacceptable for a phone of 1000 € and for only 3 years of major update.

Would recommend this phone to people who do not like to use custom ROMs or gcams mods Would not recommend this phone to people who have issues with AMOLED PWM as it does not have DC dimming and really low PWM frequency. Ps: I sold my Pixel 7 Pro phew!

I absolutely loved my 7 pro until i also got the 23 ultra. I cant remember the last time ive even taken a pic on my 7pro. I hate the imaging process google does. I love the innitial pic, but after 2 seconds googles AI darkens the photos. Also, portraid mode on the pixel is trash.

I totally agree 100%. For the average core user, the Pixel is fine. I have no thermal issues and battery life is excellent. Compared to my Exynos S22U from last year that cost way more it is a 10/10 versus the S22U 3/10 for performance, thermals and efficiency. And the Pixel 7 Pro was released the same year as the S22 line for a fair comparison.

@@helterskelzer3883 I have minimal warmth and my battery life is as good as my S23U. So I am not sure why you keep playing that game? There are caveats, the Pixel is not targeting hardcore phone gamers and sensible people know that.
