I feel the same way about the Pixel sales. I can't see myself using other Android brands besides maybe OnePlus and Nothing phone but the camera on that phone is why it would be my last option.

Love this phone, upgraded after having Samsung Fold 4 for 2 years. Only thing I miss is all of Samsung extras. I'm a tweaker...on my phone anyway. I miss the Good lock suite of apps to tweak. Separate app volumes, and a bunch of little things that add up to a more fun phone. I find Pixel great, but basically as all hell. The multitasking features on Samsung are miles ahead, I miss that. Definitely used alot. I'm enjoying the faster updates though too. So I'll get used to it, but Google needs to up their game to take advantage more of the foldable part.
@DalevonDigital12 күн бұрын
That's the thing I don't want Google to do too much to the OS, my ZFold didn't feel as smooth or as fluid as the Pixel Fold, but Samsung does offer so much. And I feel like it's a place in the world for a Pixel Fold and a ZFold for the different types of people. I would hate for the Pixel to get too many features that would make the OS feel like Samsung OS. I think Google can offer just a little more without overdoing it. I think Samsung phones are for tweakers. Pixels are for basic users such as myself.

I’ll take the form factor of the one plus open over the pixel fold for mainly one reason. The crease on the pixel fold 9 pro is massive by comparison. If Google can fix that and possibly the button placement for starters.. I’d be overjoyed with form factor. Solid second effort though.

Because I have both the OnePlus Open and the Zfold 5, I know what you mean about the square aspect ratio. And of course I'm odd because I like the narrow outer screen of the Zfold. But even if I didn't, there's no denying that a rectangle is better for viewing content than a square. And of course I'm still, and probably always will be a huge Samsung fan. Just like you woth your Pixel. It's the software and all the little extras that make my life easier. Which isn't to say I don't like OxygenOS, I very much do, and I'm currently exploring OxygenOS 15 on my OnePlus 12. But for me OneUI is the G.O.A.T and I don't see that changing any time soon. In fact I really want the Zfold SE but not enough to pay $3,000 for it😅 Hopefully it will become the Zfold 7 next year. I will be getting that one regardless.
@DalevonDigital12 күн бұрын
Definitely agree bro. I really wish one day we can get these phones to be more like a landscape kind of like the OG pixel fold. But I guess this is the direction that foldables are going into so maybe companies can optimize the videos to fit better
@joshuabergeman35412 күн бұрын
@DalevonDigital I'm waiting to see how things play out with Huawei's tri-fold! I know that Samsung has been working on one for a few years now and if this pushes them to actually get ready cotillion see other companies adopt. And it solves the whole aspect ratio thing because the full unfolded firm is very rectangular

I truly appreciate you and your content. Right now I daily the iPhone but mainly because of family and FaceTime. That seems to be the last hurdle now that texting is taken care of. I know we have alternatives but FaceTime is the standard and not seamless between the 2. I have the fold 6 as my secondary but really am on it more than my iPhone. I very much agree that I only need/want 2 apps at a time, more than that is really just a flex imo and is inefficient…(except one plus, I like the way they handle a third app).

It's funny because my parents are the only ones in our entire family that use iphones, so they're the odd one's out. Even my younger sister and I both use Pixels, so for things like facetime we made my parents get Google Meet, and for the rest of our family we talk in a whatsapp group chat.

Curious to know what cases you like. I reviewed a few on my channel, but none are quite perfect.

I don't really use cases on my phones. I like to use skins but the only case I have is from thinborne. I use it for the magsafe feature so I can mount my phone in my car.

I think the reason why that made you look feature to make the photos look like that. It's because when you use use this feature. You're using the front facing camera instead of the regular camera. So the sensor is smaller so I think it's because that. I think Google should push and update to make it use the back camera instead of the front facing camera
@DalevonDigital13 күн бұрын
You actually might be in one of something. I think that's that is what is happening. They definitely need to swap the camera
@hobbitpsi13 күн бұрын
No it's using the main cameras on the back during the made you look feature. Can tell because if you take a picture with the made you look screen on the kids (at least mine anyway) their eyes will show them drifting to the front screen and not the main cameras.
@josevelez472613 күн бұрын
@@hobbitpsi that's weird. I just tried mine and covered the front facing camera and it is using that one instead of the main one. hopefully they are working on a fix and yours is updated already.
@hobbitpsi13 күн бұрын
@@josevelez4726 Ok that's weird. I just checked and yeh it's the front facing camera. When I first got mine it was using the main cameras and i have pictures of my kids eyes shifted to the side to prove it. Wonder if it's a bug or they changed it because of the eyes weren't focusing on the camera.

I was excited about foldables when they first came out, but after using them for about 5 years, I still prefer regular phones. They just haven't reached the point where I’d ditch my slab phone entirely.
@DalevonDigital13 күн бұрын
Ironically this is the year that I find Foldables good enough to replace my slab. I'm definitely happy with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
@hobbitpsi13 күн бұрын
@@DalevonDigital I agree, on a Pixel 9 pro fold now and sure the cameras aren't the best, but folded the damn thing is about as thin as an iphone, s24, or normal pixel. Then the outer display's width is great. Now my only issue is the inner display and notice a couple apps, not all, will leave a small blank bar at the top or bottom, but tbh it's really not a deal breaker for me and I love this phone. Honestly if this is where Foldables are at now, then I can see them replacing the slabs in the next few years.

Question. Have you found a decent case with MagSafe that works well for you
@DalevonDigital14 күн бұрын
The one I've been using is Thinborne
@hobbitpsi13 күн бұрын
Magsafe cases for this phone is a bit weird. Google placed the charging coils on the Pixel 9 pro fold very low, so even if you do get a magsafe case that's aligned perfectly, your phone will be sitting on the charger awkwardly top heavy (if you're talking about a car magsafe charger). Like for me personally, since my car as android auto, I stopped using wireless charging or magsafe cases.

I never really thought about it but I don't know 1 person that uses their camera's pro mode on the android or iOS side of things. If the compromises to fit it in a foldable will only benefit a small number of ppl I get not including it. Especially when the foldables that do have it take worse pictures imo.
@DalevonDigital5 күн бұрын
I mean i know a few but we are all a niche few. But I prefer the same cameras as the 9 Pro and XL. I could live without Pro mode. I just need manual focus and raw mode.

As far as power goes it won't be a huge leap according to Google, but more so in efficiency and battery life. which is good and bad IMO because the pixel phones are need of a horse power upgrade for things like the camera etc.
@hobbitpsi13 күн бұрын
@@a-terrible-fate532 Eh the cameras are fine. Pixel is rated the best photos where iphone is best videos. Far as the current G4 goes, my battery life goes over 24 hours on a single charge. The only thing an upgraded chip would do now is make gaming a smoother experience, but if you're like me and not a mobile gamer, then it's perfect where it as now.
