@@JSLReview The Warranty.. If the inner glass cracks on the Fold 5, Samsung repairs it 4 free. Plus the outer screen gets far brighter. Also both screens on the Fold 5 are 120 HZ on pixel only the inner screen is. The battery life on the pixel fold is abismal. Watch the comparisons videos it isn't even close. The outer screen on the pixel is 5.5 inches that's iphone 7 screen numbers.. Plus its Google's 1 generation.. you never buy 1st generation anything.

I don't think folding phones are stupid. Just think of the Pixel Fold as a smartphone that can also unfold into a tablet.

Which makes this device even better in my opinion, because you actually have a cover display that's worth using a lot more than others yet it's a smaller device with a 5.8 in screen.

I'm interested in a foldable simply because I could use it as a tablet at home, and in my experience tablets often hardly ever get long lasting support. Given this is a Google device, I imagine it'll see a plethora of updates over the coming years, but man, that price is ROUGH!

Yeah true that most tablets get unused because they’re shelved once taken out of the box so having one in your pocket does make it a lot more accessible.

Pixel fold user. Had a pixel 6 pro before. This size is perfect. My pixel 6 is insanely tall in comparison, I much prefer this aspect ratio. As for the unfolded screen. Man, I can't see myself going back to seeing pictures in a slab device. There's just something about taking pictures, and when you want to view them, I always open it up - it's magical. Consuming media unfolded is also really great as well as gaming. I'm using it as a DS emulator and because of the larger screen, it functions exactly like a DS, with a top and bottom screen. Then there's all the other little things. If I want to see something while eating, boom table top mode, has a build in kickstand basically. I want to take pictures of me and my wife but no one to take a picture of us, easy, place it somewhere and put a timer. It's not about 1 big game changing thing. It's about all the little things. It adds up, and I can't go back now

I agree with all of this other than not necessarily needing the big screen. If you don't want a big screen then why get a fold in the first place? Me personally I use the big screen a lot. For movies, apps, everything. I've always used my big screen. Mainly because it is so much easier to type then using the small buttons on the front screen. I have been using the Samsung Fold. I will be moving over to the Pixel Fold in a couple days. I like options. So, it depends on what you are looking for in a phone and not so much a bad idea. I don't see it as a bad idea or stupid at all. Also, the camera and video features you can use with the fold capability in not having to physically hold the phone or prop it up with something. You can literally fold it and set down anywhere, set a timer, and take awesome pictures. It's a lot easier. Now, if you just do selfies all the time, then those features probably don't matter to you. Again, I believe the folds are an awesome idea. I have absolutely loved the experience. As I said above, it is going to be about preference. But, it is definitely not silly or a bad idea. It's Awesome!👌

Definitely a luxury device. I think photographers would love this. Both editing and viewing your photo library would be amazing. Plus stuff like reading ebooks, mangas, graphic novels, etc. That bigger display would definitely give you a better experience. I know a tablet could do all these things too, but something you could put in your pocket and carry with you all the time would be amazing.

I think that is why the Pixel Fold beats the Galaxy Fold for me, is that it is a phone first for me, for say 66% of the time, so I need and want a great outer display for $1800 and Google provides that. The Galaxy Fold sadly in my case sucks for productivity (typing) on the outer display and is an awful design. I would be using it and want to start typing and end up after multiple mistakes swapping to my iPhone and do my work from that. So for all the “so called” negatives, which are all moot for me, this alone makes it the best fold device in my region with a global release (ATM).

I'll be honest, the folders are big and heavy, but on long road trips or sitting in waiting areas, watching movies, playing games and really just about anything you do on a regular smart phone these do it better. If you can deal with the weight, they're awesome. I have a fold 4 but I really want to switch to Google pixel fold because I believe the synchronization between their watch and phones along with their ai is just way better. I can ask my fitbit to look up how much a celebrity is worth or ask it other informational questions and get answers from my watch. Many times, the galaxy watch tells I don't have a "capsule." If you ask me, these phones are definitely worth it. Its like carrying a foldable tablet with a cellular connection. I would recommend these 100%

still using the MS duo 2 , love the two screens inside its great for my use although the 5 hour battery life is terrible. Questioning the outside screen on foldables , like you said this stops you from opening the phone for the screens inside , if you are using the outside screen then you don't need a foldable. i don't like all the other folding phones with that crease down the middle and the easy to damage screens on the inside , you only need to check out folding phones at retail locations to see how easy it is to damaged the screens , MS D2 uses gorilla glass on the inside mine gets used outside in dirt and dusty enviroment and needs this protection, not happy to hear that microsoft will go the way of folding screens for the duo 3 which is a step backwards in my book.

im in the same boat had the PF since july 5 and have to say i really like the device. I do end up using the outside more often the inside, and have had great battery life and performance so far (im on the 14 beta though). I also agree having used foldables all the z folds, flips etc right now i myself dont need the more realestate as often, unless im away from my laptop, or need to watch a quick youtube video or read something thats pretty long. Hence i think I like what google has done with this form factor. GIving you the best of both worlds. I think once the price comes down, and more apps are optimized this will be a great buy for everyone else.

I just checked the price for this pixel in canada and it's not sold here by stores so I have to get it of the market and it's about $2400 The Fold 5 here cost $2700 I can get the fold 5 at the phone company for $1400 down and then pay $33 a month for 24 months for a total of $2200 plus you have to pay the phone service for 2 years and that cost is $1680 so total of $3880. And that's why so many people here are still using phones from 2019.

@JSL Review I don't see the point of people getting tired of Samsung's folding phone cover screen, only to say when having a Pixel Fold, or any phone like it that it's cover screen makes you not want to use the cover screen. I'd just buy a candy bar phone if that's the case. I use the over screen and main screen on my Galaxy Fold4.

It's not bulky at all for folding phones, in fact it's crazy thin on each part of it. You get used to the thickness after a while, it's not that bad. Labs? Just disable that? You can adjust those labs settings per app, too.

For me the foldable form factor seems like a perfect phone to use as the regular phone when folded, but when needed to read articles, ebooks, manga etc, just unfold it and get a big screen, big fonts, better readability and then again fold it back to a normal phone. And the Pixel Fold is the best Foldable now for crazy men, like me, who want to flash a custom ROM into it because no other OEM made their kernel, drivers etc open, unlike Google. So I think I'll wait for Pixel Fold 2 or 3 and use it with Graphene OS or something like that
