breeders was always kim's project even before she joined the pixies. she only agreed to the reunion because she was broke... once she made the money she needed she quit the band.

When they got back together, they still didn’t like each other. You can see that in the reunion documentary. They have nothing to say to each other, and travel separately. It’s not a surprise Kim left. They basically got back together so Joey and Dave would get some money.

Kim: "Are you bringing it down?" (meaning the overall sound of the song) Black Francis: "I wasn't really... trying to." Kim: "Sounds like you were bringing it down." Then, they have some back and forth banter. Near the end, Kim says, "I don't know how to bring it back up. Oh! The drummer brings it back up!" On the cue from the drummer, they then end the song. I've always hoped to meet up with her randomly and shoot the shit about music and stuff since she only lives an hour away in Dayton and is one of the coolest rockstar women. Let's stop right there.
