This is the Pixio PX275C Prime, a 1440p, 100Hz IPS gaming monitor that in the words of Pixio’s marketing team, is great for Steam Deck users like them - and me. The reason for that is thanks to the rear facing I/O. You get one HDMI 1.4 port, one DisplayPort 1.2 port, and importantly here one USB C port which supports both display in, and 65W PD charging out. That means you can plug your Steam Deck in and not only get video out, but it handily charges the Deck while you’re at it.

Yes, the labels like that should be on every monitor. Name, version, and max spec. The monitor looks ok, on a budget, but definitively not the only option that has 65W+ charging. Lack of at least 2-3 extra downstream ports for keyboard and mouse (and maybe Ethernet dongle or hard drive) rather disqualify it tho.

as a company who have made some genuinely brilliant products, this one's a major blunder from Pixio.

I got this monitor for a really good price. Colors are good for what I got it for, HDR is surprisingly not completely terrible, I will use it in the future. But the monitor feels like it's extremely over-sharpened, and there's no way to fix it as you can't adjust the sharpness in the OSD. In fact, you can't really adjust anything too important in the OSD I liked this monitor a lot, i don't really see any issues with latency like he was saying, which likely means the quality control isnt great - But writing papers is headache inducing, and it's unfortunate because apart from that, i really like this display. They could fix my biggest issues with one update, and I doubt they are gonna do that

yes those ports should be labeled - also nice to see some motherboards now are clarifying the actual speed of each USB port rather than just the STUPID USB naming scheme

This is.... one of the monitors of all time. The PX277 Prime is better in essentially every way, and is usually way cheaper too. I'm so confused as to why they'd launch this and at this price. Maybe I'll grab it as a secondary monitor to replace my 1080p 75Hz one if the price ever drops to ~$100 USD, but otherwise it's a pretty hard pass as a primary driver. Pixio can definitely make solid products, not sure what happened with this one though.

Can you verify that the steam deck have support for dual displays out?

The Deck's USB-C port is USB 3.2 and supports up to two external displays (an advertised feature of the official Deck dock).

In regards to the output in game mode, did you maybe forget to tell the game at which resolution to run? You can set a default resolution which can be native or a plethora of other choices.

I can't remember if the clip I included shows me cycling the options or not, but the maximum resolution any game would let me run was 1280x720. Steam OS was fine running at 1440p 100 Hz, but the second you launch a game the max is 720p - at least in game mode.

Odd. I wonder if there's a steam launch command to force it to run 1440.
