Bitcoin emerged as a cypherpunk technology, and the community of cryptoanarchists formed naturally around it. Coming from these roots, Bitcoin became probably their most influential invention. But with years passing, after many waves of adoption and fluctuations in the community, the echo of cypherpunks in Bitcoin is becoming less important. With these ideals lost, where is Bitcoin heading today? Is the wider Bitcoin community even aware of the cypherpunk background of Bitcoin, the principles of early contributors, and their visions? Let’s discuss it with cypherpunks, cryptoanarchists, and OG Bitcoiners who helped shape the Bitcoin space.

Pizza Day Prague 2022 was a one-day international conference marking the 12th anniversary of the first real-world Bitcoin payment. The first edition took place on Saturday, May 21, exactly a day before the anniversary of the legendary transaction, in Paralelní Polis and was subtitled "Just Eat It".

Paralelní Polis is a one-of-a-kind nonprofit organization that brings together art, social sciences, and modern technologies. The ideas of liberty, independence, innovative thinking, and development of society are the main underlying foundations the whole project is built upon.
The project intends to remain state-free as it operates entirely without government support. Most of the funds come from voluntary contributions of our donors and partly from commercial activities such as running a unique coworking space and the world’s first bitcoin-only cafe.
It was founded by members of a contemporary-art group Ztohoven, and Slovak and Czech hackerspaces. Its main goal is to promote economic, social, and digital freedom. We try to be a vocal voice of freedom in order to shape the public discourse, and ultimately work towards a freer future.
