I remember that one time in Mario 64, when you had to enter a map that looked EXACTLY like the castle, only to find Wario standing in the center. _I T W A S N’T W A R I O._ Also when you would defeat _ŴÆRĮŒ, the floor would crumble, but instead of the chase, _*_it was the apparition._*

Gadd NPC in sm64, which comfirms hIs existence before Luigi's Mansion, who will give you an objective where you had to fight "My newest invention!", that being Robo Mario. My favorite boss as of this far playing super Mario 64 has to be the clone. They are just like the other unlock-able player (no not Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi.) but the chef guy that I think was named peppino something. You had to fight him in one of the few Luigi specific boss fights. Where the game took full advantage of Luigi’s upsides and downsides. you’d punch him to stun him, then ground pounded him while he was stunned to deal damage. The jump height made this waaay easier. The most horrifying part was the chase however, as you’d slide all over the place due to Luigi’s more slippery momentum. Making it harder to get further away as the clone slowly got closer and closer. Of course you pick up a metal cap every now and then, and fight back. But you had to otherwise run down an infinite hall. Overall 10/10. And the unlock for peppino was cool as well, with his key being given to you after defeating the clone. Like the Partners in crime. (Wario and Waluigi.) PEPPINO was THE FASTEST, AND STRONGEST. Even able to break metal blocks by just running into them. And he was able to climb walls. Though every time you got a star it was a race to the beginning of the level to exit as him before bowser came in with the flying thing from super Mario world. And it was an instant ko if he touched you.

that was a weird boss battle, there was a fake, uncanny looking mario named pseudario. it looked like mario without any of his defining features, looked like it's from a diffrent game, and so unstable, it looked like the model would fall apart piece by piece. completely it took place in a janky replica of peach's castle. all exits and other stages were removed, except for the cap one, that was boarded u., and that was boarded up. pseudario would chase you around and used mario's own moves, though they varied from a bit off to being completely inaccurate to original in it's own creepy way like tossing his limbs and head at you. when you hit him enough times, small enemies that seemed like pseudario were breaking into the replica castle while it looked more twisted, though now, you just need a hammer to throw at the boarded up sun window and look at it, but now you have to get the hell out of the stage by grabbing the star before an completely screwed up pseudario gets you. thank god there were signs and toads with tips for the fight.
