No matter when I catch an interview with PJ Harvey, I am struck by her intelligence.

She seems like a lovely, sensitive person who is capable of wild, provocative art. She understands the boundaries.

I could imagine sitting opposite her on a long train journey to Mars and back, never tiring of the conversation, her depth of intellect or her country accent, and wondering where the time went. Stunning on stage and unforgettable off it.

With every interview I hear from her besides hearing sheer brilliance she’s always so introspective examining and re-examining what she does that’s a true mark of greatness that’s why her music is so incredible and why she is so incredible I just can’t say enough about her

I wonder if she’s tracking at home since this interview. A few great mics and mic pres…it would be easy enough for her to record at home and mix in the studio. If a live room, spontaneous feel is most important to her, home is certainly where the heart is.

This was a joyful thing to hear things from artist herself while she having a real conversation with the proffesional musical jurnalist - this was and still quite a rare thing. I so much agree, that many times articles are just misleading ,so i stopped reading them , since its far more interesting to see musician talking about things in a real time without being cutted and montaged.

I think this is from 2004? Not 2006. Her hair is short like it was during Uh Huh Her and they don’t really talk about white chalk, so this seems to be from 2004

i'm thinking the interviewer is a tad manic, but pj seems to respond well, so maybe i'm off.

I agree, he cuts her off before she finishes speaking the whole time, but she does respond well

Dave Fanning has always had a very high opinion of himself. Miss Harvey is politeness itself.

It sounds like someone walked into a mic stand at one point. There was also some background noise at various points. Were there people passing by?

Something was cut off....he was asking about her being shy but then right after that it skips to the next question.
