I'M ON MY SOAP BOX

This video requires patience just a for warning. I talk a lot, more than usual. I have had a stressful last couple weeks and it shows through in this video. I was originally going to edit a lot of it out but decided to keep it in. Thank you ahead of time for your patience and understanding. I'm glad the storm turned for both of our states. I'm hoping hurricane season is uneventful for us this year. I agree about living life. Sometime I lose track but always seem to find my way back :)

Preaching to the choir! When I worked with kids the "ok wait, how about this side of it" would be brought up and discussed and I have no idea if that carried through as they grew older. Social media has changed advertising and too often the fact it is advertising is lost on people. Glad I'm not young but older & skeptical but still not immune to anxiety & stress just better at coping with it and tuning out what drives me crazy! Good luck with Doug who probably has a few anxiety issues of his own!!!

Doug and anxiety go hand in hand lol! That poor dog, he's back with his Mom now and doing much better from what I am told. Social media is a curse and a blessing. The more I think about it the more I 'm convinced it's leaning more towards a curse. I sometimes miss the days before the internet. Stress gets on my nerves lol! especially when I'm carrying it around when it doesn't really have anything to do with me. I need to get better at letting stuff go!

Philicia, I pay very little attention to anyone's opinions when it comes to skincare or makeup. They don't influence me. I have lived with my hair & my skin all my life, & I know what I like. I'm not likely to listen to someone with 20 or 30 years LESS experience tell me what's good, LOL. People should get a grip already, & that goes for the companies throwing money at them. I watch fewer & fewer videos. I don't listen to, watch, read any mainstream news anymore. Instead I read a dozen different news sources that provide a balanced view. It keeps me informed & calm. I try to avoid the MSM. Half truths and twisted words. The media is not to be trusted anymore. I think the older we get the more in tune we become. We have the ability to see through the BS no matter the topic. I always appreciate your comments. Thank you Jackie!

Dug is a cutie and I hope he gets his...situation straightened out! I'm with ya on the "influencers" (not sure that's even a word, lol). I'm extremely jaded and I tend to not believe what people say, anyway. Also with you on the judgement thing; people are so quick to try to get their point across that they don't even hear what the other person is saying. A great example of your point would be when you held up the Mountain Dew can and said, “I don’t like this brand.” Now imagine someone influential takes that one clip of your whole conversation and posts it and it goes viral. People would blindly believe it without doing their own research to see the context of your comment. It’s so dangerous, yet people do it. Shame on influential people for spreading half the story and shame on the audience for not doing their due diligence once the message is received.

Poor Doug. Maybe he’s just unsettled with this new situation. Guess he’s showing how unhappy he is. Or he’s just plain lazy. He is cute though. Eyeballs came out beautifully both times. I do think part of the price of makeup is in the name. I came across a Tati video where she was trying out KZbin “stars” makeup. I don’t even know who these people are other than Patrick Starr. So many content creators have palettes. I don’t watch anyone that’s young. I can’t relate to them. I also can’t stand the term content creator. I do hear people say this isn’t good I wouldn’t buy it. I also noticed that you always say it might work for you. Glad you look at both sides of issues. I know I try to do that. There are some things that make my blood boil. Basically I try to be fair minded. Social media has made many so judgmental. It’s easy to scout their tirades without having to back it up with facts. Since I’ve gotten older I’ve changed & don’t care what others think. Except for those that matter to me. When Vietnam was happening I had many opinions against the war. I was just a kid. My Mother told me I would think differently. Of course I said I’ll never change my view. My brother who is younger said he hoped he was around to hear it. Well I did change & he got a big laugh out of it. I also understand the saying “youth is wasted on the young “. Oh I feel so old!

Youth is definitely wasted on the young, I wholeheartedly believe that. It seems almost unfair. I don't like the term " beauty influencer" it's just a fancy label for a product pusher. Content creator is what? another term for a youtuber lol! I miss the early days of youtube, I know I say that a lot but I can't help it. When I realized, just recently, what was happening it made me cringe. Sometimes I don't want to be associated with youtube. I have days when it's hard for me to turn the camera on because a lot of folks have turned youtube into something I don't like. Anyway, Doug is back at his house now. He's doing much better now that he's back in familiar surroundings!

I'm going to have to look into the "cluster headaches". I get headaches all the time. I have one now lol. It isn't normal to wake up with a headache, at least I don't think it is. I clench my jaw when I sleep but I know the feeling from that, some of the headaches I wake up with feel different. Thank you for the info. I appreciate it!

PHILICIA'S WORLD mine started out like that. After too much sleep, not enough etc.. I always woke up with one. Then they progressed to migraines which I never get since them upgrading to Cluster Headaches. I honestly blame permanent nights. I don’t think you give yourself enough sleep. Then there’s the ‘mood funk’ on the rest days ... all cheerful stuff lol 🇬🇧😎

Unfortunately I have to rely on reviews, that doesn't mean I hear just one opinion. It truly was much easier if we could return "used" makeup here like you guys can do in the US, but the rules on this side of the pond are much different :-( Would love to try Pat McGrath or Natacha Denona but as far as I know they aren't sold on this side and to order from Sephora or Beautylish you can put almost another 100 on top for customs and postage, so no way... been almost 2 years thinking if I should buy the Wayne Goss brushes but when I see the total value I always give up. I work, I pay my taxes, why do I have to pay customs if I can't get some things anywhere in the EU? Not fair :'( Yep guess I'm in a bad mood today :-P Hahaha xxx

I understand, I would be frustrated too if I had to pay extra. I'm not sure if having someone buy it for you here and then sending it to you would be much cheaper but let me know if it is. You could always paypal me the money and I could send whatever it is you want.
