Unfortunately, it's illegal to bring up as a member of the jury, because it's the Achilles' Heel of our legal system. They would have to silently agree to ignore strong evidence together. Not saying it can't happen, because it's happened before. But it's pretty unlikely. This guy isn't exactly OJ.

You boys were on the right track but for totally the wrong reasons. The primary strategy to defend this case is 2 fold. 1- It will be extremely challenging for a court to select jury that can be impartial, because almost everyone in American has had some kind of a run in with a private health company. And almost everyone in America knows his name, his face, details of the alleged crime, and will therefore be likely to be prejudicial. Also anyone who ever had or still done have coverage by United has a vested interest and can’t be selected. 2. There are many widely circulated reports that “he changed” after some kind of medical issue and its intervention. - there are MULTIPLE verifiable medical conditions that could have occurred during his injury and treatment of that injury, which all have a high probability of a successful diminished responsibility argument in court. Eg, micro clots, inflammatory disorders effecting the brain, issues with post opp circulation, pathogens, and many more. Any single one of these could be responsible for lots of neuro-psychological effects such as diminished impulse control, thought loops, depression, paranoia, delusions, and many more. 3. The media is noticed too. What you are seeing in their response isn’t some mass collusion to toe the line for the Illuminati. All media companies are shit scared of only one that and that’s legal and financial liability. If they stuff up reporting on this, it’s possible for the victim’s family to hold them accountable for fucking up the trial. It’s also possible that they could be held responsible for copy-cat crimes, on the grounds they fanned the flames. And YES, these media companies have a lot to answer for, and big highly paid executives, which downtrodden lone wolve types usually don’t distinguish as being that much different to executives of big health firms. 4. They have his DNA. - people including you guys seriously do not understand how hardcore dna evidence is now. The methods of collecting and testing are orders of magnitude more precise that in your cop shows and movies. Average day average person, about 1.6-2 grams of biological material is shed. This includes skin, saliva, hair, sweat, eyelashes, body hair, mucus, blood and others. That’s 1.6 MILION micrograms. Of which (depending on the material type) only a few picograms to single micro grams are required to identify a subject. And when I say identify you, I mean exclude a total number of people that is likely higher than the total number of humans ever born until now, and who ever will be. Hope that informs you boys a little. I like your rants. I love them even better when there’s less speculation :)

I don’t think he was insured by United specifically, which hurts his case. Since they were the biggest and the worst, it still had to be Thomson in order to make the story what it is. But the jury would be setting a precedent that murdering people to prevent them from continuing to murder thousands of other people is okay. Is it? Probably. But that’s a dangerous precedent to set.

@jamsheed033 сағат бұрын
I’m not defending United, but the reason Luigi will almost certainly get convicted is not because of precedent, but because United isn’t actively “murdering” people, at least not in the way people perceive •murder and how its defined by the law. It’s more like they have a callous attitude towards the plight of others and allowing them to die, but not actively murdering them, and the jury will differentiate that. I say that because there HAS BEEN precedent before of someone •murdering another in cold blood and getting off scott free, just look up the case of Gary Plauche lol He did it in front of TV cameras and didn’t serve a day in prison for it. So it isn’t about precedent, but more about how involved the “victim” was in DIRECTLY harming others. In this case, United will be seen as being INDIRECTLY INVOLVED in the deaths of people rather than DIRECTLY KILLING them by the jurors, which will hurt Luigi. If you still disagree, then ill propose this scenario….say Luigi had found and killed a mass murderer that the govt had been looking for, like an ISIS member that killed 20 people and somehow got away, and Luigi came across him and assassinated a guy like that, then that is where his chances of walking would go waaaay up. Jurors could easily be like this guy just did us a favor and took an active threat off the street. That’s the difference. Luigi will be convicted because Brian Thompson was not an active threat to people, but instead was the CEO of a company that just doesn’t seem to care if people die. As bad as it is, there is a difference between that and actively pursuing the demise of others.
