​@@apuapustaja1i totally see your point, but the "whale" reference is genius. my theater unanimously erupted in cheers and applause and nearly every person was hysterically crying over charlie's beautiful redemption arc...but it was bcuz he MEANT his "sorry's" and he'd earned his daughter's forgiveness. that was his ultimate life goal and what gave him the peace to finally pass on, and i remember my entire audience sobbing our guts out during that ending scene. at the end, charlie embodied the true love of a father for his child, willing to quietly endure the full measure of her wrath as she walked all over him and lashed out at him, as long as it meant that she could have peace in her heart in the end. and she did, and there was genuine beauty in their brokenness. but the difference with boogie is that he OWNS the fact that he's an evil, manipulative snake. he gets off on using and hurting and deceiving the ppl who love him and then he uses self-deprication as a shield to protect himself from criticism. he is simply an evil, narcissistic sociopath. period. the end. charlie hid himself away and self-isolated bcuz of his overwhelming guilt and shame over hurting his loved ones. boogie feels no such guilt. sure, he uses emotional manipulation and feigned low self-esteem to come off as sympathetic and contrite, but it's not very long before he eventually grows tired of the act and he'll simply just resign himself to being who he truly is. an evil, uncaring, narcissistic sociopath. boogie was SUCH a beloved man once...what an extremely sad ending for his story 😢💔
