You can always tell which of his stories are fake. Usually if there’s no point or it doesn’t relate to the topic, it’s true. If he ever tells a story that has a lesson or actually pertains to the topic, it’s most likely just constructed because he needs something to contribute to the discussion.

So, I know this is a weird place to post this, but Kyle's comment lines up with something that's on and off bugged me for the last 2-3yrs. Im 27, so I was pretty fucking young on 9/11. Obv it took place on a weekday so I was in school. I also remember having a TV wheeled into the room and us watching the news in class, even though, if not abundantly apparent, we were way too young to fully comprehend what was going on. I literally have possibly the best memory of anyone I've ever personally met, but I just don't remember much about that day. I remember the teachers warning/telling us that some of our parents may be taking us out of school early that day, sure enough, some did. I couldn't remember if I was one of them though. And also remember whispering between the teachers, and one of them being particularly hysterical crying. But that's about it. My question being pretty open ended and generalized, what was your 9/11 experience like, I guess particularly how the school handled it, I'd especially be curious if anyone was actually in NY, even if like at a distance away that it was iffy maybe. I had a bunch of friends I met through WoW back in the day that lived in NY and really regret losing contact with them, and one of the many reasons being, I wish I were able to ask them about this. Apologies for lengthy comment. But it happened so long ago, 9/11 doesn't get brought up much, and when it does, it's rarely people my age or just slightly older. Its mostly adults, at work. I'm particularly curious about how schools handled being responsible for and having kids in their care. Oh, another quick memory note, remembering the teachers discussing "Could this be traumatic to show them?" before turning on the TV. Or possibly even telling us at all maybe. Idk.
@Anonymous83172 жыл бұрын
Same thing, they wheeled in a tv. Everyone was quite watching. It’s all I remember from the day but…I have a lot of memories like that, most are insignificant lapses or memory. No memory of tower 7 but this is a rando memory. The bears issue…if you would have asked me….I’d have thought stein for sure.
@GTFF2 жыл бұрын
I remember it being on TV but the teacher turned it off, we had morning announcements and then it changed to the news. Most people don't remember tower 7 falling cause it was at 4pm and at that point it was just reruns of the towers falling, the pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania.

Another good one the old ad _"You wouldn't download a car..."_ It never said that. It said "You wouldn't steal a car" but everyone I know, even my parents vividly remembers it saying download - that's the reason why it was so funny back in the day.

It's easily explainable. For example, the spelling of febreze. That's not something that someone thinks about on a regular basis, and then when you try to remember you assume it will be spelled in a logical way, so you assume febreeze. Same with Curious George. Monkey's have tails.

Tbh a LOT of these are simply due to people just assuming these brands are spelled correctly or just grammatically correct… but turns out they’re not. So it’s not misremembering so much as people don’t care enough to take the time to look closely at said things to see them for what they are, if that makes any sense?
