+Oldrich Polreich Hi, everybody! This is PKFR. I’m Vlad Erovikov and today I’m going to answer all your questions. - Vlad Gurko: How long have you been training? What’s your favorite trick? - I’ve been training since 2005-2006 for about 10 years. I have no favorite trick. Just like to run, jump, do monkey, flips. No favorite thing. Just movement, overcoming obstacles, doing some cool things. - Ruslan Kunusov: What music do you prefer to listen while training? - I train without music because I think it’s egoistic and irresponsible. Don’t you have to see people around you? Not to hurt or bother them. That’s why I train without music to feel everything around me. - Mark Shut: What’s your monkey length in footsteps? - In the street it’ll be 11. In a gym with mats around I can do 12, but it’s my maximum. - Vadim Savelyev: Did you have injuries? Do your knees hurt? - I broke my spine, had a compression fracture, spinal disc herniation, knees were injured badly, ligaments stretched. But all these things are not so bad, they can be cured if you train fine and work on yourself. There are many exercises that help to recover. Just don’t neglect it, that’s my advice. Because I neglected many times and paid for it a lot. Don’t be sick. - Nadezhda Okulova: Do you have a higher education? If yes, what’s your specialty, do you work in it? - I’ve got a higher economic education. I studied in Russian State Geological Prospecting University, specialized in “Economics and Organization Management”. So I got higher education several years ago. But I don’t work in my specialty, I don’t work as a manager in some company. - Andrey Zolotarev: What approach do you use when trying something new or scary? - There’s no fear, it’s an illusion. I don’t have any special approach. I just know what I can do and what I cannot do. If I’m confident in some movement I’ll try it. Preferably starting in a gym with a foamed rubber pit or mats. But actually I started to do everything in the street. Moscow with its cool gyms is not the place I started training at. I’ve been training for about 4 years in wild conditions of Kaluga (note: Russian town not far from Moscow). I learned everything on the ground, sand and concrete. When I did something new my friends backed me up or I just tried myself and it either worked out or not. And if it didn’t it was painful. That’s how it was. Just at my own peril and risk. But anyway there are some general methods: if you are confident of yourself and of what you can do, when you understand what you are doing and think about it many times , when you imagine the movement, you should feel less uncomfortable and understand your movement better. PKFR will make tutorials so watch them. There’re many options to learn. Use them. We aren’t in the 19th century. - Maxim Dronov: The most topical question. What do you do for living? If it’s parkour how did you achieve it? - I screen. Sometimes work as a stuntman. In 2009 I joined a stuntman team that needed such guys like me to do some tricks and to be able to study. Parkour gave me some basics. Screening in films I learned a lot but I spent much time too. Apart from films I take part in some shows, festivals. Sometimes work as a judge at some parkour contests. Also I work as a parkour coach in Moscow Parkour Academy. There are some people who need my experience and knowledge. And I provide it to them. - Bogdan Stakhovsky: Why did you stop making new videos? Why did you get lost? - I didn’t get lost. I’m still here, still with you. As I’ve said I have a lot of things to do. I don’t want to make videos that you’ve seen already. The same tricks at the same spots that you’ve already seen many times. I used to make powerful and significant videos. At least I tried to do it. They had some message and something new. Today I see such a new generation of young people who do such things I’ve never dreamed of. I couldn’t even imagine what guys are doing nowadays. Watch Barchuk’s videos for example or Pasha Ivanov’s videos. What the hell are these young guys doing? How old’s Barchuk? Nineteen? Screw him! I already made some good content for you when nobody did monkey-gainer or other cool stuff. I did it, I showed you that it’s fine and possible. Now all the young guys do all the tricks I used to do many times better and much more complicated. Who am I now among them? Why do I need to make videos? Watch cool guys. I need to start training normally again to make cool videos. - Alexander Zarkov: How did you join Alliance team? Why did it fail? - This team Alliance was stolen by Shade from Marvel or whatever from. This is just comics. A team of superheroes. When parkour just appeared and everything started to develop every one of us was a superhero or some guy with super abilities because not every man can do what we can. But actually everyone can but for some reason they don’t know about it. And we just decided to go through, to make our way as superheroes. We dreamed that our skills, flips or trained body someday will help us. We’ll put on a cape and go rescue people or to rob banks vice versa. That’s how Shade turned all this into Alliance. It’s funny. It isn’t a team or project or something serious. It’s just a get-together. - Vladislav Subotkin: Why don’t you do cork? - I did even double on a flat surface in 2009 or something. - Timur Dovganyuk: How many times did you give up training? What or who was your motivation to come back? - Hi, Tima! One of the old guys like I am. It’s hard to give up something that your life consists of. In the period of my childhood and growth parkour started to influence my nature. All this stuff with obstacles overcoming and so on. All this made me initially. So now I always think in terms of parkour and overcoming obstacles whatever funny and silly it may sound. Every person has some factors and situations in life that influence his nature and conscience. It may be some consequences, family, upbringing, sport, school, university or a group of friends. For me it was parkour that created my worldview and understanding of myself, people around me etc. For me parkour was such a teacher. So how can I say that I’d like to give up or that I did? I stopped training for some time. But I didn’t give up parkour. It’s impossible to give up something your life consists of, as I’ve said. Something that taught you living. I hope you figured out my deep thought. You can give up training for some time, can stop training for some period but still be the traceur you used to be in the very beginning. - Abubakr Ilkhomov: After what occasion did you start training parkour? What’s your parents’ attitude to it? - I started after films like Yamakasi, District 13 and Jackie Chan films. In my childhood I tried to do some flips, climb the trees. Then I saw that people made a movement out of this, some culture. And I tried myself in this culture. So I think as everyone, as many people, I saw something cool and started training. Though nowadays generation started trainings after Petkuns’ or Farangs’ videos. My mom was absolutely against it. It’s just nonsense for a young child giving you nothing but injuries. But after some time I understood that I can have some money from it, provide for myself. Films, trainings, as I’ve said, coach thing and so on, festivals, competitions. When I started to earn money my mom said that it was useful and approved. The parents think that if you do nothing, that if you do some junk that gives you nothing in life, then why do you do it. - Ivan Semenov: Tell about your tattoos. How many of them do you have? What’s your favorite one? - I don’t have many of them. The first one was “create history”. It’s such a reminder for me. When I look into a mirror I see it and it reminds me why I did it. It’s such a reminder that a man should be powerful and strong to leave a bright trail behind him. I also have a tattoo of a city on my left arm and shoulder. It’s a kind of tribute to the city and infrastructure for the knowledge it gave to me. - Fedya Golysh: Why Blade? - At school we tried to pick up a cool nickname. You take your name in Russian, write it in English and add “e”. We had Vanya, he became “Vane”, sounded pretty cool. We had Nikita, called “Nick”, he added “e” and became “Nike”, like the brand name nowadays. We were small children, 3rd grade or something. The same thing with me. I added “e” to Vlad and became “Vlade”, but it didn’t sound cool so I became “Blade”, no any reference to vampires or black guys killing beasts. I wish cool skills to everyone! Be healthy, train, live long and happy. Don’t do shit. Try to do something that is useful to you and people around. Peace to everybody from Vlad Erovikov and PKFR!
