4 Male Lions: Sabie Game Reserve bordering Kruger Park

4 Male lions were seen in Sabie Game Reserve bordering Kruger National Park.
While on a morning game drive at Umkhumbe Safri Lodge with Elephant Herd Tours and Safaris on 7 July 2021 we spotted these 4 male lions moving over the property we have seen these guys in May 2020 in Kruger National Park close to Paul Kruger Gate. Now you can see how easy they move between reserves with no fences.
Awesome to see the one male kind of recovered a bit with what looks like a cist on his left flank. Nice to see the boys again and they are looking very well indeed.:

Two of them now have left broken paws, surprisingly enough. Gore and Ubuso. The latter is looking more haggard and thin. Gore is thin, too, but is looking fitter and still keeping up with the others....

Lions working hard and trying to enjoy each day to the fullest. 3rd one seems to have a hernia or other problem on his stomach, the 4th's one malformed paw must be challenging... Take care, boys!

It is not a hernia.It is a old injury from a buffalo hunt and he is lucky to be alive.His insides were hanging out but this boy named Gore has healed quite well.All four are very impressive now and our very good dads.

​@@donnacollingridge5709 Thanks! I think I've seen this boy jumping away from a croc when trying to feed on a hippo carcass floating in the water. If so, he must be doing well and it's hopefully just more of a cosmetic problem than anything else.

@@hotbit7327 Yes that was him.He is always with the lone Southern lioness and two cubs.The other three are with the three Styx lionesses .Works out good four females four males.

Just my opinion they don’t look healthy nor look fit enough to fight, I really think they would be overthrown by the avocas southern or northern doesn’t matter and if dark mane rejoined the northern avocas and again just knowing and being a fan they won’t last long they need to slow their patrolling and eat for a few weeks or any two big healthy males could take them and broken paw will not last long because that’s males strength and balance come from and gore should just run because any fight will reopen his wound and he will more then likely won’t have the strength and confidence to fight anymore if he’s not killed during the battle so for now all these guys needs is for their females to feed them and they have two prides it’s no reason why they is not bigger and more healthier

It is so sad when u have vehicles and people in the wild lions habitat.

Without the vehicles and people this specific game farm will not exist so I do not think it is sad at all. These farms was normal agricultural farms and in the early 1900's is was made into a private game reserve especially to give big5 animals extra land to roam and no hunting, poaching or farming is allowed in these reserves, so to feel sad will be when this all was lost to villages and people staying here.
