Pride of lions with 3 large males on S21 amazing lion sighting in Kruger Park.
What a sighting we had with these lions on the S21 about 4km from the H4-1 on the 18th of March 2022 in Kruger National Park.
There were a couple of moments with a crocodile, buffalo and lions fighting over their own share. Incredible to see them in nature like this. Our guests were very happy with this game drive from Hazyview some days are just better than others for sure.

The rain droplets hitting the surface of the water, the position of the kill right on the edge of the river, the rare encounter between the 2 lions and the crocodile, the massive Buffaloes arriving , and not to forget the always annoying Buzzards! @Petercross Looks like less than full grown giraffe(by neck length), goes to the edge of the water and gets stuck in the mud, fairly easy kill for 3 adult males. Giraffe’s primary defense mechanism, the kick, is neutralized. Although I swore the head was missing from the end of the neck? Smaller giraffe gets its neck clamped by croc while drinking, feet stuck in the mud, death roll removes its head? Lions then take over You could be correct. Either way, it’s a hearty meal.

Three big male lions in their prime, this pride will need big kills like giraffe and buffalo for these lionesses to be healthy and survive. These three male lions will be dominating kills for years to come. Interesting dynamic as male lions are needed to take down big game, and they won’t be happy about sharing. But lionesses are needed for the pride to grow. Mother Nature at its finest.

I definitely would some vulture and one of them Buffalo 🐃 on the side. It's what 3 male lions and 4 females that a strong group and not alot of mouths to feed. A Buffalo plus that giraffes would last atleast a week of relaxing 😌

I don't know why..but I'm been so fascinated with these videos lately..I first it shocking..but this nature..they have to survive.the motto is hunt or be hunted..I mean it's not like they can go to a burger King pizza place or order Chinese food 🤣 they have to eat whatever they can...I will say one thing..I kind of envy these animals..when they eat there food..it's really fresh 😆 we gotta wait days before we get our meat 😆

I swear it's not just solely about first rights to feed. I think it also very convenient to keep the lionesses bit on hungry side. Since they do most hunting they won't keep him or them waiting too long before next meal 🤪

Those lions got these girls Trained!!🤣 They Fully respect him. I guess it's a living dynamic and structure that must be orderly to function. Those lionessess who nurse should be allowed to eat before other females and wild feasting means few get most and the others get little or nothing. It makes sense. 🦁👑 Male lions are a little mob boss-ish in their methodology. They keep the order especially with the aggressivness of the sub-adults and strength and inherent dominance of the lionesses who routinely kill males who they don't like or whom they do not perceive as strong enough. Very human attributes.

No, The pride did it at night the previous evening we arrived with the giraffe already killed. One lion is not strong enough to take down a giraffe that size. That is why they hunt in a pride the only cats that do that with the exception of Cheetah male coalitions, but female cheetah does not join them in hunting. Hyena also hunt in packs.
