According to GR136 customer service, there is no padding on the bottom of the bag. This is very disappointing considering the hype regarding quality.

PK - have you used the 25L? How has it worked out for you?

PK - I noticed you also got the bottom handle/compression belts in place of the multiwebbing. I think the handle would come in handy. And you could use the bottom compression belts to story a jacket or tube or tripod. Very useful. Those side compression belts drive me crazy with all the excess straps. Did you get the Straprbands to roll and store the excess? I wish that top compression strap did not cover up the first zipper so you could always access the top admin pocket without messing with compression straps. How do you handle that?

I do use other brand's strap keeper to roll up excess straps sometimes. I find that on this bag it is manageable so far. having the top compression strap start after the front compartment / admin area is a good idea. I normally leave that one open. The GR bags in general are a bit strap heavy I think.

They will move the compression strap behind the front panel if you ask.

There are plenty of excess straps.. dangles, dangles, dangles and dangles... how to manage those dangles on the fly? specially when the straps are pulled tighter/close.

thank you for this! I'm still a bit torn between the 20L and 25L; as you said, you could add compression straps and make it “smaller” if you don’t need the space… but I’m worried about weight. how heavy does the 25L get with all the Wildcard add ons?? how much does the standard 20L weight? I don’t want to get a backpack that hurts carrying around! thanks PK :)

The weight difference is .25lbs. Negligible, get the compression steaps on the 25l!

Awesome job, PK! How long did it take to get your bag from order to delivery? Still waiting on my custom 25L Northseeker in MultiCam Black. I ordered it in late February. I got the same functional mods as you except for the compression straps. I did opt for the bigger opening in the back. Hoping it is wide enough to use that for an Ipad or second screen for my work laptop.

Custom work takes awhile, especially they had some production line / staffing issue. However Patrick is always super transparent about their production line. I never though of using the back extra pocket for an iPad! Interesting idea.

@@PKShiu The expanded back pocket will fit an 11" iPad. I don't know about the 12.9" iPad or 13" MacBook Air. It will not fit a 14" laptop.

How do you like the cordura vs the epx400?

Tough call. I like both materials in general. I think for regular use they both function fine. If you want colors, has to be Cordura. The EPX esp in black is more "business"

Tough call - I like both. I just used the Kemular several times on short and long flights, and did the same thing with the Northseeker before. Both works. The laptop compartment in the Kemular helps with easier main compartment packing.

great video really convinced me to place the order for this bag. unfortunately I think this company customization somewhat holding them back... your bag looks great as do many others but many I've seen online have terrible color palettes with no sense of of harmony or balance. For some reason people really want to choose a mix of 3 or 4 extremely loud colors with no neutral to balance it. Really makes the bags look cheap in a certain way. I think the company would do really well to send out review units to big youtubers with pre defined palettes to really show the bag in the best way

I wouldn't say customization holds them back..being able to customize is rare and one of their strengths, mainstream bag makers don't allow for that at all. The thing that holds them back is the lack of completed showcase examples on their website, a real photo of the end product would be more convincing than a 2D mockup visualization. They could just showcase orders that are more tasteful. they do post the completed customs from time to time on social media, some do look better than the default, some really don't as you said but it is easy to overlook and skip these. Customization costs more money and time to make than the default standard versions too.

Nice. The black makes it look a bit different than the burgundy one I have. It’s an amazing little bag.
