You didn't have to take PLABs if you were an EU student. I am not sure this is still true after the Brexit. Doctors usually go for PLAB 1 during their F1/ Internship year. The UKMLA (Medical Licensing Assessment) is the proposed assessment for all doctors who wish to practice medicine in the UK. This will be a requirement for all those graduating from 2025 in the UK and all international medical graduates (from 2024).

Thank you so much sir for such an informative video. Please help me out sir. I have complated my internship from govt medical college in 2020 and completed my rural service bond few days back. I took the IELTS Academic test in Nov'21 and secured band 8.0. In our state, we are eligible to apply for permanent MBBS degree only after the bond completes and in my case, it will take atleast 3-4 months for my permanent degree to arrive.
