Chinsurah is one of the district towns in the Hooghly district. Apart from all the administrative works, Chinsurah hosts a number of historical monuments which were constructed in the pre-British era. Chinsurah was ruled by the dutch then. In this video, you will get to see the places to see in Chinsurah and the places you must visit during your chinsurah tour.
Dutch Cemetery: Among all the historical places constructed by the dutch, few are unharmed. This dutch cemetery is one of them. It was constructed in 1740 AD.

Ghorir Mor: Constructed by the british in 1914, this clock tower was built in the memeory of Albert Edward. He is the eldest son of queen victoria.

Doyamoyee Kali Temple: Built in the year 1808, this is Chinsurah's one of the oldest Kali Temple. During my visit, the temple was closed. Visit the temple after 5PM in the afternoon.

Sandeshwar Tala Temple Complex: Sandeshwar Tola Temple's history is of 500 years. The Shivalinga was rescued from the river by a Brahmin Digambar Halder. Since then, daily worships are conducted. Much later in 1979, the temple was reconstructed using marble stones. It is heard that actor Uttam Kumar also contributed to the construction. The place also has few other temples. One of them is Siddheshwari and Jogadya Ma temple.

Karunamoyee Kali Temple: The karunamoyee Kali temple is situated within Walking distance from Sandeshwar Tala. Built in the year 1808, this temple also has a rich history. The idol is made of touchstone.

Gopinath Jiu Temple: Walk 400 meters from Karunamoyee Temple, you will reach Kanakshali. Gopinath Jiu Temple is situated there. It is a Pancha Ratna-style temple. Lord Krishna is worshipped here. This temple was built in the year 1784 approx. The temple was renovated much later.

Tomb of Susanna Anna Maria: This is the tomb of Susanna Anna Maria of Chunchura/Chinsurah. This monument was built about 200 years ago. Anna Maria, a Dutch woman, remarried after the death of her first husband. The famous writer Raskin Bond later wrote a fictional novel about a character of this name. Vishal Bharadwaj made the Hindi film "Sat Khun Maaf" based on that novel. Local people used to spend time here.

আমার -ও প্রিয় শহর।জোড়াঘাটে থাকতাম (১৯৬৩-১৯৬৯)।জোড়াঘাট, বঙ্কিমচন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায় যেখানে আনন্দমঠ উপন্যাস টি লিখেছিলেন। স্বনামধন্য লেখক অবধূতের বাড়িও একদম গঙ্গা নদীর ধারেই। আমার প্রথম স্কুল ডাফ্ হাই স্কুল প্রাইমারী section.এখনও সময় সুযোগ মত যাবার চেষ্টা করি। খুব ভালো লাগলো চুঁচুড়া-র এই vlog টি।

হ্যাঁ, একদিনেই ঘুরে নেয়া যাবে। সকাল বেলায় ব্যান্ডেল পৌঁছে গেলে বিকেলের মধ্যে চুঁচুড়া অবধি সবগুলোই দেখে নিতে পারবেন। টোটো ভাড়া করবেন ব্যান্ডেল স্টেশনে নেমে। দেখে নেবেন হংশেষস্বরী মন্দির, চার্চ আর ইমামবাড়া। এর পর ট্রেনে বা অটো ধরে চলে আসুন চুঁচুড়া। চুঁচুড়া এসে টোটো ভাড়া করে দেখে নিন বাকিগুলো।
