I think the reason that some of these seem so nightmare-ish is because you have no context for these places, similar to dreams. If you think about it, every place you've ever been you can put into context, but when you're dreaming you are in a random spot that you can't put in relation to other places. I think this is what makes liminal spaces so creepy too. Also, in dreams, there's always the feeling that something is off, which you'll often find in these photos.

2:40 you woke up from a massive explosion that you heard in your office, you pick yourself up from the ground and look at the stairs. “What the, this looks nothing like my office. If this was a hospital. Wouldn’t I be in a bed?” All you can see is a mild yellow wall and windows that lead out to a blue sky void where the sun camouflages with the atmosphere. After going down the flight of stairs, you see an appendage making a gesture that looks like it’s stretching it’s arm. That appendage soon reveals to be a reptile like Caucasian male wearing a sky blue suit. He walks in front of the window, and you stare in awe as his torso fades into the void outside. “Can I help you?” he asks after noticing you from his reflection you explain how you heard a loud explosion before suddenly appearing here. He laughs hysterically as if you’re a comedian that escaped a mental institute. He tries to lecture you into thinking that people that end up in this… facility come here by choice. Your comeback is intercepted by a creaking noise, except it’s not from a door, it’s from a tornado like figure that slowly approaches you and the man. “The wrong individual in the right place can make all the difference in the world” an echoing yelling noise floods the room as the tornado like figure glides at you at such speeds, you didn’t even have enough time to blink…. Wait, that's not your house, your still on a nightmare. At 0:01 , you found a secret basement, its has books, a lot of books, you found a book that looks like a switch, you get the book but the the bookshelf behind you is open, you go up to the ladder that leads you to 0:20 , you see a building with spiral stairs, you go up to the spiral stairs that leads you to 0:40 , your at the 1st room, its dark and creepy, monsters are not there, so you try to stay there for a while, after that, you go to the door that leads you to 1:00, it seems calm, you go to the lake but somehow it teleports you to 1:20 , no door leads you to an exit, you try going farther, and you find a door less exit that leads you to 1:40, seems like the circus has fog, the fog gets thicker and thicker every time, you try to find a way out of the fog, the fog got thicker than you didn't see anything, after walking for 50 minutes, you stumble across a hole that leads you to 2:00 , you go through the corner, then you find a door that leads you to 2:20, you go behind you, you see stairs that leads you to 2:40 , no doors are also an exit here, after for 18 hours, you finally find another door less exit, you find yourself being at 3:00, there a bunch of houses, you found a car that leads you to 3:20 , the house has a lot of resources you need, the car sends you to the unsafe zone for your brave test, your at 3:40 which is the first unsafe zone, you see a lot of monsters, the only exit is one of the pools, you go to the 3rd pool and it leads you to 4:00 which is the 2nd unsafe zone, dust particles falling above is really common, so don't look up, you try going at the endless stairs because its the only exit, and the stairs lead you to...(To be continued)
