yes, he is an amazing singer and pianist and musician but in this particular video he's not singing an ópera nor any ária (which is the technical name of any opera's "song) but a mexican popular song called "Granada".

I totally agree! Placido is amazing, and the fact that he is so generous and seems like a genuine human being means a lot to me. He's been an inspiration of mine for years. Do yourselves a favor and listen to his "E Lucevan Le Stelle" from when he was in the movie of Tosca with Raina Kabaivanska. It's one of the most beautiful things ever!

Agustín Lara, a mexican singer, was in love with Spain, before he ever traveled there. He composed a whole "suite" with spanish themes: Toledo, Sevilla, pasodobles (Silverio, Novillero. Etc.). "Madrid" , the chotis, is from him. "Granada" is his most famous song, but he composed mor than 300 pieces.

Yes, play and sing at the same time is very difficult, no matter if you're good at both things. He's my favourite too, I think he's much better than Pavarotti.

Pavarotti had the most naturally beautiful voice I've ever heard. But he was no musician. Placido probably cannot sing the high C's of ah mes amis, but what a musician! BTW, I really hate this childish game of "who's the best."
