Impressed!!! Check at home depot, or a Lowes? There is a plastic level, that attaches to a post with a rubber elastic, it goes around the post, they can be used with metal or wood, on the inside they have magnets for metal, I have used these for metal fencing and wooden posts, they make leveling a post quite easy, especially when the post is in concrete. Great job, never give up!!!

What are the dimensions of your beams? Load bearing or just ties? Good job. Always a challenge, but it’s nice feeling of accomplishment when you get it. I lost a 20’ beam in the mud similar to how yours went lol. Good luck with your farm.
@HiddenSpringFarm23 күн бұрын
@@mightyjo3young I milled all the beams 5.5” x 12” but the lengths vary, the shortest is 6’ the longest is 24’. I completed this project with barn doors just a few days before a huge snowfall so just in time.

Plum…. I have only heard you and one other person say that when using a level to make sure things are level and square… come to think of it, he is from way up north too, the upper peninsula of Michigan … down here in the "south" we say "square." The first time I heard this guy say "plum" I couldn't figure out what the heck he was talking about… but he kept saying it and it dawned on me that he must mean "square." So, I’m guessing that "plum" is a northern thing…
@HiddenSpringFarm3 ай бұрын
Square means the corners are 90 degrees, level is horizontal level and plumb is vertical level 😉
@ZippedUpKitz3 ай бұрын
@@HiddenSpringFarm level and square is what we say… I literally have never heard "plum" until I started watching a bushcrafter named Dave Whipple on his channel, BushRadical… he builds cabins and sheds and all sorts of things on properties he buys up there in the upper peninsula of Michigan and he has properties in Alaska as well…. I honestly thought the whole "plum" thing was a northern saying since you are up there in Ottawa and he is in upper Michigan…. But hey, you "learned me" something new!! Where did "plum" come from anyway? I mean, I hear "plum" and I’m looking for fruit! lol

I’m nervous too sometimes but lifting the beams I’m inside the excavator so there’s no danger there.
