While placing the nasogastric tube, do these patients feel extreme pain and discomfort? Because I have seen this performed on infants most of them cry in pain and discomfort while some are able to sleep through the medical procedure. So in your upcoming video please explain to me whether this medical procedure will cause the patients to feel pain and discomfort or will they be able to manage it. Healthcare workers should be mindful of their patients' reactions to pain and discomfort to this invasive medical procedure before performing it on them.

Hii, as someone who has had one placed down my nostril, yes. It tastes of plastic, its hard to breathe, swallow and there is this uncomfortable poking sensation. If they give you a flush or if you are vomiting, its even more painful. I absolutely hate these things. It was so hard to breathe, I felt like I was drowning on land.

It’s terrible. I’ve had a few. One caused so much discomfort I told them I needed it out as it was causing my throat to be irritated after about a week
