There are actually special abilities of these plague types which are unavailable in the main game. There are some such as ‘well understood’( No Need analysis) ‘Annihilate Gene’ (Exclusive to the Bio-Weapon, Increases Lethality and Infectivity over time) The Plague types after VIRUS are actually already really Hard on mega-Brutal

I beat it by only put more quarantine all over the world,research cure first,purchase more antifungal sprays,visit the countries most at risk,purchase more anti-compliance risk when compliance risk rise,give aid to countries with 100% compliance risk,purchase more authority and response at last until vaccine is released, hope this helps!

Below is what my strategy was. It gets you around ~35,000 points, so only two biohazards, but it does allow you to win on Mega Brutal. It may take you a few times to get a feel for the actions you’re taking and why. - Start in Saudi Arabia. - Get the only 3 upgrades you can at the start. - Fly across to Africa, then to South America, then up to the U.S., then across to Greenland, then to the UK. If while you’re moving anywhere you see any hint of where the plague is or you uncover an infected country, double click that country and look for whether it says a disease was discovered (start location) or that it came from another country (then check that one). Once you’ve found the disease, it will start being analyzed. - You can’t do much until the disease has been analyzed. However, you can start implementing lockdowns where there are significant infections to control the early outbreaks. Also make sure you get Furlough Schemes and Adapt Society. - Keep checking the world map frequently to see if a country or continent is starting to snowball. Lift lockdowns where infection rates are very low or negative to ensure you don’t lose authority unnecessarily, and sometimes you may even get a little back. - Don’t bother shutting any airports or seaports, as the fungus can spread around independently of aircraft and ships, making these shutdowns less effective. - The disease should be nearly fully analyzed or already analyzed by now. Get PPE Package 1 to avoid the chance of your Field Operatives spreading the disease. Get Disinfectant Supplies, Hand Washing, and Self-Isolating, and Contact Tracing 1. Get Vaccine Research and Infection Control. Now go back to the Response tab and get Social Distancing and Mask Wearing, and start making your way along the two Contract Tracing branches - try to get to Contact Tracing 3 and Testing Capacity 2. - Get Emergency Care - Go and get Morgage and Rent Relief. Get Authority 1 if you feel your authority is getting lower than you’d like. Get Antifungal 1 when you can, as the fungus exponentially gets bonus lethality, and Antifungal sets this bonus back to 0. - Finish the Contact Tracing and Testing Capacity branches. - Get National Stimulus. - Make sure to get Improve Supply Chains for reduced infection + faster vaccine research speed. - Get Accelerated Manufacturing. - I like to try and get Authority 2 and 3 to boost my Authority, although you don’t always get enough resources for level 3. - The rest of the game just entails keeping the worst-hit countries (visible on the World screen if you press the third option with the biohazard ☣️ symbol) at bay, which will involve flip-flopping between lockdowns and no-lockdowns and occasionally moving your Field Operators to a particularly badly-hit country. - This strategy is more or less easily replicable. I think there is a slight learning curve to controlling lockdowns across the various continents, and once you get familiar with it it’s fairly intuitive. I was also able to beat Parasite on Mega Brutal using this strategy.

Yeah, that's why they give you a lot of authority, enough to win on normal even with a global 99% deathrate (at least on mobile and without advisors) For brutal and mega-brutal however, you have to keep the infections to 1 or 2 continents.

3:49 Force Lockdown is a requirement for all countries infected with the epidemic (by continent of course) to isolate, and to not leave your house, hence why infection rates go down for said countries under that inisitutive.
