When wanting to add a decal would you do a layer of epoxy over the woodgrain then add decal or add the decal on top of the woodgrain before you epoxy?

Yes I'd definitely do a layer of epoxy over the wood grain before a decal. Just so you don't mess up the ink or paint with the transfer tape

What if you did not paint white over the plaid would you get the same effect?

I don't think the brown alcohol ink would cover it up, so I would recommend painting first 😊

Is the cup wrapped in flannel? Have you ever thought about using a Mr. clean eraser to remove the paint and the alcoholic ink?

Nope it is just painted plaid 😊 I have not tried that, I'll definitely try it though!

Nope, just the few layers of epoxy on it 😊

This was great! I have just finished and it is drying however i did it before the white layer and all the scratches came through. Some of the epoxy seemed to crack also. Do you sand after it dries before the epoxy?

Why 91% alcohol & not 71% or lower?

It's stronger so it doesn't take as much effort to get the paint off 😊

Yep! I did the plaid, then the epoxy, then the paint and wood grain. I do not have a tutorial on it but I can do one! I'll add it to my list 😊

Acetone makes the geode process easier for me, and alcohol to remove smudges.

@@lorenbillings5829 It certainly can. The vapors can completely strip the epoxy, but I have found no issues when used sparingly.

I just used cheap white spray paint from Walmart. It's the $1 one. I use the cheaper one when I'm covering it up with something, saves $ on supplies!

Thank you! Hope it helps you! I didn't really let it dry except for the time in between doing the alcohol ink and getting my rag and alcohol ready. The ink dries pretty quickly!
