Hi there, voice actor for Jolly 1 here and I completely agree with you as to the recording of the voice lines. I don’t know what happened, as it was years ago but I just can’t believe how badly I sounded 😂 Also, when you talked about the phone guy not giving clear instructions either, I completely agree with that too. I’ve recently recorded this game and I thought the same thing. I also want to state that I don’t like how my voice comes across, as it sounds boring/un-engaging and quiet. I wish I could replace old voice with my new one.

IIRC there was an entire episode of Kids Next Door that was written around Number 1 being brought to his dad's work on Bring your Daughter to Work day, which might have been where the developer first heard the holiday from.

I held my birthday at Jollibee's once, it was really fun! Plus, the food was really good. Sad thing is I had a toothache at that exact same day and didn't get to enjoy it that much. The mascots weren't really sketchy. I guess it all boils down to who's inside the suit and if they are enjoying their job or not. [edit] Because they affect the image of the restaurant if the person behind the suit didn't do well. Either way, I had a blast there! 10/10 would hold a birthday party there again. If I wasn't too old enough.

I think it's doing a great injustice to Clickteam Fusion to call it "extremely limited". Fusion as an engine has been worked on since the 1990s by Clickteam and is quite powerful. Sure, for pseudo-3D games (like FNAF and Jolly) some trickery and laying is required to create a first-person game with pre-rendered 3D graphics, but that doesn't make the engine itself as limited as you make it out to be. Fusion was created as a 2D game engine, and it does its job as a 2D game engine very well and has a lot of power under the hood. I say this as someone who has seen what games made in Fusion can do and as someone who uses Fusion (for both 2D games and pseudo-3D games). Here are just a few examples of games made with Clickteam Fusion (minus the obvious of FNAF and Jolly): Baba is You Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 1 (I also think the 2nd one was made with Fusion as well) The Escapists 1 Freedom Planet The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures

Like I said, it does take a little bit of work to get pseudo-3D games to work in a 1st person perspective with pre-rendered 3D graphics, but it is doable. Fusion also processes media (like the pre-rendered 3D frames) rather well, hence it's older name "Multimedia Fusion". It just seems unfair to me to dismiss its capabilities and call the engine "extremely limited". I'd call Scratch extremely limited, not Fusion.

small thing to note, in JOLLY 3 the cutscene that plays after the Antonettes (The metal puppet) jumpscare has a chance to hold a minigame in it, revolving around trying to stay away from the giant crusher in front of you. (Because your on the conveyer belt leading to it, I guess.)

Something to say: the jolly lore has a lot of change at the current time. Most of the stuff from jolly 1 is not canon. The canon ending to jolly 1 is the broken ending which you get it when you complete: 20/20/20/20/20. Plain trace if you want to learn more about the jolly lore you can always join the jolly server.

The Jolly 1 lore was supposed to be continued on Jollibee's, where the children have already been poisoned and haunted the animatronics. Then, for some reason got taken down by the actual Jollibee's food corporation for copyright infringement, which is a pp move since that game would boost their popularity, and free advertising.

I think it's really interesting that the "Bring your daughter to work day" specification is a real thing. I remember hearing in my childhood about either my dad or my friend's dad having it, but not being able to actually go because of school. I think it was supposed to inspire young girls to look into jobs that they might otherwise not think of, especially if they were raised with traditional gender roles.

One thing that really stands out to me is the sound design for J3 ch.2, specifically the sound of the map when you pull the screen up and zoom in to a specific section. I looked around the internet for my best interpretation of the lore, so bear with me if I'm wrong: So basically, the story is about an engineer who works for William Afton (Potentially as an employee of Afton Animatronics). The dude worked for Afton on repairing Animatronics for both Fazbear and Jollibee's, but was suspicious of his boss' actions. Then in 1985, on "Bring your Daughter to Work Day," he brings Zoey to Fazbear's. Before he can properly bring her in, he decides to check in with his boss (as you do), only to witness him luring the 5 missing children to their doom. Upon witnessing this, he tells Zoey to stay in the car so he can deal with the issue. Zoey doesn't listen, gets caught by William, and William locks her in a room to finish her off. At the time, Jolly the Animatronic was nearby and it came to Zoey to comfort her before William finishes her off: linking her spirit to Jolly. The engineer, devastated, decides to follow William's example and begin to do remnant experimentation in order to bring Zoey back. After Fazbear's shut down, Jolly the Animatronic witnesses the engineer break into the restaurant, poison the food, and serve it to the kids. This gets the restaurant shut down while letting the guy have access to all that remnant and the Animatronic so he can bring Zoey back. Zoey is unable to rest until she fully understood what happened to her, and emphasize with the missing children wishing that she could just rest, just like them. Years later they try to run the restaurant again, but Zoey still haunts the restaurant. After it shut down, some guys go to Jolly'a storage unit to find something to use for Fazbear's Frights, which at the end of 3, they find Springtrap.

I love that Kevin Johnson is a reference to Cave Johnson of Portal 2. Kevin even almost directly quotes Cave too: Cave (50's and 70's)- "Welcome, gentlemen, to Aperture Science. Astronauts, war heroes, Olympians ... I'm Cave Johnson, CEO of Aperture Science." Kevin - "Hello there, astronaut, war hero or Olympian! My name is Kevin. Kevin Johnson, CEO of Jolly Entertainment. And welcome to the Jolly Entertainment Underground Facility!" It's so similar, just Cave's first sentence is brought to the back of Kevin's. Being a Portal nerd since the age of 7, Jolly has always been one of my favorite fangames because of that. IvanG is very cultured! 'Bring Your Daughter to Work Day' might also be a little nod to Portal, instead of just 'Bring Your _Kid_ to Work Day'. In the first Portal, GLaDOS says "Remember: The Aperture Science Bring Your Daughter to Work Day is the perfect time to have her tested." During Portal 2, you get to see the abandoned 'Bring Your Daughter to Work Day' area too. I'm not going to spoiler this, as Portal and Portal 2 are both over a decade old now, but GLaDOS is inhabited by the brain/soul of Caroline, Cave Johnson's assistant. Jolly might be alluding that, with Zoey maybe being the soul possessing it? Then again, children possessing robots is very common in FNaF and its fangames.

There is one little section of jolly 3 chapter one’s gameplay that you missed. i don’t know what the chance is, or what the circumstances are, but when you get jumpscared by the marionette type thing when walking through the door, there is a chance that the conveyor belt will activate, and you will have to wiggle off of it before you are killed by a giant crusher. this part has such an intense feeling of fear and desperation, i really wish you would’ve seen it.

I definitely wouldn't say that clickteam is very limited, while yes it isn't the most powerful and is mostly in 2d. Its amazing at doing 2d and helping people that started from scratch or just wanted to make a game and found clickteam because of fnaf. I still use it to this day and have gotten really use to it and have figured out how to make a good point and click game.

In jolly 1, the animatronics (expect for metalionnet) can be stopped by the door, you don't need to use the elevator or vents. Just wait until them reach to the window and close the door until them go away. For jolly one, i recommend only using cam 11 and 13 which are the most important ones. Try to save as much power as possible for the parts where the animatronics stack on each other (and for jolly). The reason cam 13 is also important is because it leads to the room in front of you. Sometimes, maxie might be there (window) then George might be at cam 13 (vent). Don't focus to much on your power, you'll see it on cams and if you save. You won't need to worry about it. Never and I mean never, fix wires when one of them is near or is at window. They will kill you. That's all i have.

One more thing, when an animatronic is at the window. You have to close the door. Flashing them will do nothing. If you hear a vent crawling noise. That means they're gone. If they disappear and you just saw them at the window. Immediately close the door. They are about to come inside your office.

Avid Jollibee enjoyer here, did you know jolly is actually real? And it's a restaurant chain too! And it's real fucking delicious you should totally try out sometime. Jollibee is in (mostly) Philippines! And is an actual game end for kfc and mac do (golden arches) and now is in New york, which is crazy to think about. Ps: if you do go to Jollibee, for a first time eater get a jollyburger (hamburger) fries, and chickenjoy!Also if you want to, get ice cream too.

Jolibee's Phase 1 & 2 were really good as well. In my opinion, the Jolibee's company made mistake by filing a cease and desist request to the developer of the JOLLY games. If anything, he spread popularity of Jolibee's to people, giving Jolibee's more customers. Judging from their restaurant statistics, they received a boost in attention and profit since the JOLLY games were being made and released.

I know the video is a bit old by now but I wanna clear up some gameplay mechanics (TL; DR at the end): *Jolly 1:* you can flash to retain them, but the best way to make them go is to close the door when you hear an eerie atmosphere sound. There's a footstep sound cue when they leave (the window is a previous step to the door). Honestly, closing the vents is useful only to stall a bit of time if there are other animatronics. *Jolly 3 Chapter 1:* the windows are just the starting points of Tweetie and Maxie. There is no need to use the lights at all during the nights. _Tweetie minigame:_ you need to flash her, wait a bit with the phone down, then flash again. The tip at the beginning says that brining up the phone activates her, so you need to keep your phone down and flash sparingly until she's gone to be safe. _Nights 2 and 4:_ you can go both center and right on night 2, night 4 will make you go to the one you didn't pick. _Night 3:_ there was a minigame here, escaping from the crusher, but you didn't get it because you didn't do Maxie's minigame on night 3. *Jolly 3 Chapter 2:* the jammer only needs rebooting if used incorrectly, when there is actually no animatronic at your door. If there IS an animatronic, it will be ready immediately after using it. Also you can see George at your door, his eyes shine. Jolly has nothing though. _Night 5:_ the office isn't "very similar" to Jolly 1, it IS the Jolly 1 facility. *----------TL;DR:----------* Jolly 1: close the door when they leave the window. Jolly 3 Chapter 1: windows are just starting points. Tweetie needs not much flashing while keeping the phone off until she's gone/in starting position. Night 3: there was a minigame here if on night 2 you went to the right. Night 4: the door available is the one you didn't pick on night 2. Jolly 3 Chapter 2: jammer only needs rebooting if used incorrectly, if not it's immediately ready again. Also, George's eyes shine at the door. Night 5 plays in the Jolly 1 facility, that's why it's "very similar".

The others are either malfunctioning, or "indirectly haunted". Some come to attack you, some come to just play with you (with deadly consequences if you don't win, of course) and some just want to make your life harder. I wanted to give them a little personality by having some of them act as they do during the day, but more messed up. Or, wait, did you want to know who the robots themselves are?
