One year later, and y'all keep commenting LOL I'm glad you were interested enough to click on this video! In response to the sudden influx of critiques here, yes! I am aware I could have done a much better job here and I agree! This is not my peak or my best performance. Shadow is incredibly monotone for such an emotional context. Why couldn't we get this dramatic moment in the IDW comics?! It would have been a lot more impactful to the Zombot story arc if Shadow or Rouge made a self scarifical moment like this to ensure the heroes lived another day. They are both beloved, complex characters and if this happened instead, the story's stakes would have been off the charts. Instead, Shadow had to be a complete idiot and get infected due to dumb overconfidence that somehow he was immune. At least Rouge left the story line with her dignity and played a huge role in the plot reguardless.

I want to say I've been doing her for about four out of the six years I've been voice acting, she's one of my most requested roles. Adrenaline Dubs (IDW dub group here on KZbin) has me as her pretty consistently, they're a great team and well worth checking out if you wanna hear a bunch of great VAs. Same with my friend Steve at HyperVoiceActing, some of the ladies he works with are mega talented and great to learn from. Shadow voice actor sounds good but he really needs to work on the acting portion. Moments that are highly expressive and dramatic need to have actors that are prioritizing emotion over anything else. I really suggest that you give it another go-- you're almost there!

@@FlascencoCipher I think it’d be a great idea! Nothing builds confidence more than revisiting old work and seeing the change. Like I said, you’ve got the hard part figured out, you just need to get emphasis! If you’ve having trouble with volume when you’re doing a character, focus on nailing the voice quirk at the start and end of a phrase rather than each word. Check out some emotional scenes in cartoons that have felt “real” to you, they focus on the power of the line and sometimes break their usual pitch but that lack of control can sell a performance.

I like whoever voiced shadow cause they do a great attempt to where this voice sounds like shadow and not the actor acting as them if that makes sense. But I feel there wasn't enough volume? on the last page where its seems like shadow is sounding a lot louder as the text seems to make the reader think how it would sound. I really....really hope what I said doesn't confuse anyone. Still overall voice work was great from everyone.
