I really appreciate you posting these so we can see more gameplay beyond what's available in the demo! Maybe you say this somewhere in one of the videos, but something I tested is that using short roads with trucks is *insanely* more efficient than just using chains of depots. It's so vastly faster that I have to imagine it would still be significantly better than the level 2 depots daisy chained. Might just be a play style thing, but watching those poor little drones struggle was so painful :P

Instead of a depot-mesh, I might try a few local truck stops each pulling from smaller separate mining depot lines, all trucking to the train station/factory intput. More deliberately concentrated flow in the right direction.

Yeah, I've seen some mention of that idea. It hadn't even occurred to me before then.

I try to pull raw iron, aluminum, sulfur, what have you, to dedicated smelting areas via rail, rather than put factories near the ore. My thinking is once the ore peters out, I can tap more ore extraction without having to rebuild the smelting stations.

The problem is the 2:1 and 3:1 ratios. That's a lot to haul by train unnecessarily. Laying out new Factories isn't hard (especially how I do the Concrete later in the series).
