Thank you for sharing stories of your recital. How do you calm a nervous child? I was one, and it never left me even though I played in church my whole life. I am old and sick now but I wish you could have been my piano teacher.

I don’t know one way that calms all nervous children, but I have tried to make sure that each of my students knows that they can make mistakes and not worry about it. Everybody in the audience is rooting for them, and they can just keep going as though their mistakes were on purpose, haha.
