Honestly I get why people think drawing in your bullet journal is a waste of time, however I draw in my journal as an escape. That is just a time for me to relax and forget about things. Its more of a fun thing to do than a "I must do it" kind of thing ( Even if I suck at it 😂😂)

Such a beautiful color combo, it's one of my favorites as well! I did a video at my one year of using a bullet journal and I touched on what you were saying in your "rant". The bullet journal system is what each of us makes for ourselves...that really is the beauty of it. It's unique to each person. Also, bullet journal are is very therapeutic. I am starting one to help with my depression and anxiety and drawing is one of my stress reliefs and so it is very helpful to calm me down or make me happy along side the planning/organizing (which I absolutely love doing) and forcing myself to be productive and accountable for things I'm tracking. It gives me a routine which gives some sense of stability in my life since emotionally and mentally I don't have any XD Helps me be less crazy!

I'm loving the idea of your weekly spread. I don't need planner space for work as my schedule is determined for me. I only need to track occasional personal appointments and I tend to have tasks that are for the week, as you mentioned, not due on a particular day. I think your layout would save me having to scan through several days to check my to-dos. I love that with a bullet journal, I don't need to order new inserts, I can just set it up next week and see if I like it. I also love that I can spend three hours "decorating" my journal, or keep it minimalist depending on my mood and available time. Instead of feeling obligated to make each page pretty, I'm trying to think of my bullet journal as having random art journal pages that magically appear as I need them (just turn the page :).

I'm doing my PhD right now and I'm forced to keep it minimal because of lack of time. However I still try to dedicate at least 5 min per day to journaling. Chuulip Whoa, good luck with your PhD!! Yes, I think it's so nice to fit in just at least 5 mins of journaling/"me time", no matter how busy you are. Not only is it relaxing but it's also awesome to look back to. So funny that so many people ask if I'm German, I'm not but I did my Master's degree in Austria (studied in English, I only speak a little German). I'm actually from Romania but I guess my accent doesn't give that away haha :D I'm planning on moving to London soon so who knows what that'll do to it 😂😂

Of course we have a dark side of the planner/journal! Or at least I sure do LOL I'm transitioning towards having my brain dump in a separate space where I can scribble like a mad woman on scratch paper. it's becoming my universal inbox, to be transfered into my paper or Google calendar, my project files, digital or paper lists etc. I always keep it at hand, and because it's not so formal, I have become fearless to brain dump there. I LOVE IT ^_^ PS: blue/teal/green have always been my favorites too ~ now sure is a great time to find cute things in that color scheme! I adore what you created this month ♡
