A full day planespotting from the beautiful Tenerife North Airport located in the Northern part on the Island of Tenerife.
Tenerife North serves as an important hub for the Canary Islands, with Binter Canarias operating a vast amount of services within the islands and further afield into Europe.

WELL in today is safe but in 1977 is dangerous bc two boeing 747 collision and is the worst disater in avation history

This was home for the Deadliest Plane crash in History. The Tenerife Air Disaster in March 27 1977 here at Tenerife North Airport also known as Los Rodeos Airport. Killing 583 people

This was the area where a combined 644 passengers from two giant aircraft (747s) were involved in one of the worst airplanes disasters In the aviations history at the time, 61 passengers only survived, but those were all the passengers from the Pan American Airlines, neither of the KLM passengers survived as after it crashed over the pan am, they had very little power of flying and it flew for just a few miles before slamming into the runway, with fire all over the place.

Where abouts is this filmed from in Los Rodeos I go to Tenerife once or twice a year and always go up to Tenerifa Norte Aeropuerto but can never find a good vantage point for photos and videos

I'm pretty sure everyone that searches for videos of this airport is to see where the worst airline disaster in aviation history happened.

That is probably true,sadly. I had a really nice conversation inbetween my limited Spanish and a local in his 60s who lives nearby, and we had an interesting conversation made up mostly with odd words and gestures. The one thing that sticks with me is how he still remembered and recounted in detail what happenned that day. The emotion and pain came across more than any words could.

Hard to think the worst aviation accident in history happened at this tiny airport

It was sobering talking to one of the local residents who was there when it happened. He barely spoke a word of English but I could see the look in his eyes when we started talking about it and he explained in Spanish where he was. The impact of it is still felt by those who were there even all these years later.
