It's so funny you mentioned Hall & Oates. Evidently, Hall is now suing Oates and has a restraining order against him.

I saw that last night after I uploaded the video and wished I had seen it before I finished it. The song in that scene really was a Daryl Hall song. Every Time You Go Away but not his recording of it.

Wow! I had to look that up, never would've thunk it would happen. I couldn't remember the name of the band who did _Every Time You Go Away_ on the _Planes, Trains, & Automobiles_ soundtrack, though I knew of them back in the day from a couple of other soundtracks. Here's what I found: Blue Room [did the song Every Time You Go Away]_ on the soundtrack to the 1987 film Planes, Trains and Automobiles. (from Wikipedia) Blue Room was a new wave band from England active in the mid-1980's. They appeared on several John Hughes films' soundtracks, including "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (with the song "I'm Afraid"), "Some Kind of Wonderful" (with the song "Cry Like This") and "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" (with the song "Every Time You Go Away"). Band members: David Joyner: Vocals Linda Hall: Vocals Sean McDonagh: Guitar Mark Holloway: Guitar Ian Montegue: Bass, Guitar Lucas Vigilante: Keyboards Paul Mansfield: Keyboards Tony Cook: Drums, Bass Geoff Lincoln: Drums (from discogs.com)

Steve Martin and John Candy both [separately] said this was their favorite movie they had made. If people can demand a Snyder Cut of "Justice League," why can't we demand the Hughes cut of PT&A that was like two, two-and-a-half hours long? There was a whole subplot removed where Neal's wife thought he was cheating on her and "Del" was someone he'd made up as a cover. That's why she's so relieved at the end when he finally shows up and Del is real.

That is very enlightening. They should have kept a hint of that in the movie. It would have made the tension between him and her more understandable. As I took it, he was away from his family too much at important times, which is good, but the extra detail would have helped the movie. Thanks for the info, muffin!

The band Kansas is from Topeka, Kansas (see how it says right here). Apparently, this was the 2nd band named Kansas for Kerry Livgren. Anyways, "Love you all my wayward Muffins, there'll be peace when you are gone." Hahaa, bet you didn't know I could sing! Well, you still don't because I can't. (No mama, that wasn't the cats outside fighting.)

1:20 The rock band Kansas was from 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 Topeka, KS! 3:40 That ain't just ANY po-po! That's (Michael McKean as) Polish Duke Leonard "Lenny" Kosnowski, friend of _Laverne & Shirley!_ Or, it's Dr. Simon August, from _Young Doctors in Love!_ Or, it's David St. Hubbins from _This is Spinal Tap!_ Or, it's Mr. Green from _Clue!_ Or... ok, Michael McKean has had many awesome roles in his career, because he's a fantastic actor and musician, and I'm not listing them all. Pick _your_ favorite. 😂 HAPPY THANKSGIVING and _safe, Kermit-free travels_ to all, and to all a good night. 🦃🦃🦃🥐🥖🥗🍠🥧🥧🥧🌽🥔🥪🥪🥪

Why can't we have more light-hearted comedies that where a self-absorbed main character urns into a better person and learns the true meaning of a major holiday that's otherwise overly commercialized?

Who puts his wallet in a GLOVE compartment? Who washes his face from a sink? I have been rewatching a Hallmark version of this movie called a Christmas Detour. Nobody washing their faces in sock water
