Been a really, really good series Surtr. Very watchable and full of great tips. You have been a fantastic ambassador for the game and I reckon the devs Miju owe you a debt of gratitude. And so here is mine too. As for the endings, all rather bleak weren’t they? Back in a cell with Sentinel Corp, or robbed, probably dumped and maybe even chopped into pieces by the smugglers, or head off to the Wardens and find there is actually no survival? Wow - what a choice! Think I would stay on the planet, with Pinky and the others - who knows who might come to visit you now you’ve destroyed the orb. There was that other convict who contacted you once; there’s Ikhlas who is still out there somewhere; there’s that group who crashed at the waterfall then headed out west; there’s innumerable locations via the portal; then there’s Riley who may get back in touch. OK the game is done and none of these will happen, but stay where you are in your mansion and pet your ever growing menagerie!!

Absolutely. After all that work why leave the total freedom of doing exactly what you want with your own planet for the (apparently) almost certain chance of pain and death... Until Sentinel come and evict you ofc.

Sentinel Corp: You go to back to jail for an unknown amount of time. Smugglers: You don't meet Riley, and your travels might not be the best. Wardens, in Morbo's voice: You're doomed. DOOOOOOMED! This game seriously needs a "good" ending. If you know your tropes, these all seem either bittersweet to downer endings.

Indeed they seem to be. However, I am sure that this is a setup for future releases.

@@surtrplays that is my hope, those endings all seem bad, for the character at least. The Sentinel one at least explains why they might end up on a planet doing that all over again.

All three endings are horribly depressing. I am staying on my planet. It’s gorgeous now. Really enjoy your videos. :) But as someone who has been playing this game since early access, I was very disappointed in these endings. I am hoping for more content, as Miju has said is coming.

I thought the ending was too depressing and have decided, I'm not leaving the planet. I might not even use the explosive device to keep SEntinel corp from landing here.

By the way, if you take the Warden ending you can leave without blowing up the energy drain device, that was my choice, Leave Sentinel with nothing but a perfectly terraformed world they CAN'T USE! I like to call it the Pliskin ending. So what are you going to do? Disappear.

Great work! Depressing ending on purpose. I'm really looking forward to the next update from the devs. I like that the game has no aggressors, it is proof that you are able to do a great interesting game without enemy's at all. Really enjoyed the playthrough! Did my own in the meantime as well and man this game since I played it in 2022 has really come far!! I love it. The devs just announced 1 million copies sold and that they want to continue working on it! Extremely nice news because I hope they polish the game a bit more and maybe add extra stages inbetween, so that we all can enjoy Planet Crafter in the future once more. GG WELL PLAYED. In one of your videos you talked about a Hardcore playthrough, that also decreases the terraformation index rate, so I would love to see that one as well! Maybe you recognize me from my other comment, I'm all in for more Planet Crafter videos from you

I started another play through of Planet Crafter and just finished the Story just last night. A great walk through for new players this series is. Nice that you can get all 3 ending from one play through, but all the ending are a bit depressing. Would have love to have a more endings and some endings a little more hopeful would have been nice 1. Where Riley comes to the planet and are reunited living on the a pretty paradise of a planet protected from retribution from Sentinel Corp by the Wardens device. 2. Building a portal so the Wardens return to their planet. OR DLC is that you went back to Sentinel Corp and then get dumped on a new plant to terraform, will you trust Sentinel Corp again or do something different.

Currently there is a 4th option of just staying on the planet with your animals. Seems like the happier one. I am sure that the Devs have something in the works. These endings were basically cliffhangers. Stay tuned.

I didn't leave either. Instead I am collecting all the displays, redistributing trees into not quite so dense thickets and going to either continue setting up the base or even build a few holiday places. I am also cataloguing the various dna recipes so I know what makes what colours in animals. Next game if you haven't tried it is Dinkum which, very soon, is going to release new updates. I am waiting for those updates to be released which is going to be huge.

The game has been so good to go through and those endings were very underwhelming in my opinion. It's very unfortunate that those are the endings we have, as it feels so anticlimatic. Yes, I know life isn't fair, but wow are those depressing endings. Great playthrough though, Surtr! Really enjoyed it, and I picked up quite a bit of ideas and tips watching! Cheers!

Thanks again, Surtr for sharing this v1.0 journey with us - That was an excellent playthrough and you nailed it with the format and pacing, plus a dash of wit at the right times. The gameplay tips were timely and clearly highlighted the important bits. - I'm happy with the footnote style endings to the game - I don't think it needed extravagant cut-scenes or drawn out narrative: (1) This game is really about the journey, where the devs have polished the loops and progression very well - a rather enjoyable game; (2) As well as keeping the door open for expansions, my take is that the somewhat stark futures alluded to by the endings is by design -> to drive home the idea that given the probable outcomes, why not stay put and enjoy the paradise we've put all that effort in to creating?! (I think in those stories and endings, there is a bit of a social commentary from the devs, there).

I ended up going with ending #4, stay on the planet. Actually, I had everything done by Tti 2.0 and had nothing to do except wait for 5.0. They need more positive end options and more things to do late game...

Notice that the year on the last three messages is now 3059, so it's taken you a year to terraform the planet. Note that if you put the ten Warden's Keys into the Extraction Platform you don't need to explode the Orbital Drainage - Defence Device. I've really enjoyed watching this series. I only wish I had seen your other Planet Crafter content at the time.

The conditions for the Warden ending was not very obvious ( I had 9 keys after I blew up the device ). The other two it was pretty clear, even if the UI for the rocket could use some help, but I hope they are going to clean that up a bit. My wife and I have finished our first playthrough, and she is ready to go again.

Wow. So like on the point of your lets play that was great and fun and kudos! Really enjoyed it and your base. On the nature of the endings, which you don't control but yeah, wow just wow - that's super depressing. And annoying. And a let down. And disappointing. So my choice is do not yet destroy the sphere and instead stay on the planet while trying to find a way to contact your friend so there can be a happy ending. But wow on those ending. They don't ruin the game but its damn near to that though. Anyway. In things you control - good lets play, fun design on the base.
