Planet Crafter - S2 E26 - Automated Farming with Drones & New Buildings

Its time to automate our farming and get food into containers using the new Drones T2. We also need a lot of Terra Tokens to get the new buildings and have a bit of fun setting them up. With those done, we need to more the bio production area closer to home.
Planet Crafter is an early access, first person, space, survival, crafting game. You have been sentenced to terraform a planet for the crimes that you have committed.

My new lake base gain a shape today. It has a domed habitat for emtrance. Forward there's another domed habitat. Moving forward again there are two storehouses for raw materials and crafted stuff. It's funny how autocrafters help with resources placement. From entrance left and right there are three levels (for now) of autocrafting set ups. Moving from them there are aquarium and biohouses. It's still not yet ready.

The event for the containers you have been really lucky, been playing for hours had 2 one was pretty good and the other disappeared into a cliff and couldn't be found even glitching there was just nothing. I find that pulsar Quartz for getting TT is better. Pulsar Quartz, need Zeolite, Osmium, Iridium and Uranium Ores so have an extra 10 Ore Extractors T3 for each and an extra 10 Gas extractors for Methane. Have 2 Containers T2 for each resource, so 160 per resource and 4 Auto Crafters for Pulsar. Maths, each Extractor gathers 1 reasource per min (I believe is less 30 second?), so in 10 mins for the 10 extractors they gather 100 of each reasource, that makes 100 pulsar quartz every 10 mins, the rockets take 10 mins to come back after launch. So with 4 Trade Rockets you can sustainably get 1000TT per 10 mins with enough drones to transport the resources. The circuit boards take way more resources to make.

@@surtrplays Yea the Circuit Boards take 9 resources to make the Pulsar Quartz on takes 5 for 10 TT each.

I am going to slow down on sending rocket quite soon so not a big problem. Lesson learned.

Is there some kind of efficiency reduction with farms over time? I.e. when I plant cocoa or wheat the first harvest yields the most crops and from there on it reduces over time to a point where I only get one or two seeds per field. If I remove the field and replace it with a new one then harvest is back again to its full potential and decaying over time again.

I haven't checked recently but there did seem to be a reduction. The answer is just to build so many that it doesn't matter.

Your base looks absolutely brilliant. Shame about not being able to mount the displays onto the walls of the control centre. I think many players would have had that concept in their mind. Maybe because all the walls are very slightly rounded and you can’t mount a flat surface against that curve? Can the big screens be rested on top of a table like the small ones can? You might have been able to put the screens onto the flat walls of the entrance points, although that wouldn’t have looked as good and would of course have blocked the entrances from any future expansion routes.

Yup, a great pity but a plan has been made. I'm not too broken up about it but I will remember for the next time I plan a base.

I've not had any containers fall since the update, are they initally triggered by you obtaining or unlocking or is it purely RNG?

I have no idea but I haven't seen one for hours now.

@@surtrplays np will just have to wait and see. Grinding for t2 drones, don't have a load of T1's and they are overworked. Will expand drones once have t2. Steady and slow

Is there no other way to catch the drones other than one at a time so that i can start using T2 drones

I haven't found a better way. It would be nice if you could just recall them.

disappointing not being able to put the big screens on the walls of new building ..would have made an awesome looking command center.

You can add the big screen in the alcoves, One entrance in 3 Big Screens and small screen on tables at the curves
