These are the 2 markers that I have at the moment. I think overall I like the Geo more than the DSR+ from a comfort standpoint. The main thing I like about the DSR+ is the Back grip frame shape and the shot sound. The Geo, I love the size of the gun since I can finally fit my thumb comfortably between the front grip and the trigger guard, I am used to wrapping my thumb up and over the frame/barrel. My first electric gun was a PMR09 so the DSR+ frame felt comfortable and familiar, but overall the quality of life stuff on the Geo (AA's, UI and buttons for the electronics, the S63 barrel kit that is cheaper to get inserts than backs) the Geo is my go to since I got it. -edited for spelling because I suck at typing

Having shot 10k rounds through my DSR+ w IM kit, and stock barrel, I felt there was something missing. The "accuracy" and air efficiency weren't there. *come to find out there was a micro ding at the union. Not the manufacturer's fault, it was the previous owner* I Bought a Parabolic Phi kit, and holy crap I had accuracy and more efficiency than i knew what to do with. It took a bit of the "Poppiness" out of the shot with the new barrel kit. I've put about another 20k through since having the barrel kit. Then I got my hands on a R5 a week after the release. That woosh is real. It distracted me a bit. BUT, the ergo was WAY more comfy than my DSR+ in my XL Hands. I didn't feel as bound up shooting. Either one, I would own. Both were a pleasure to shoot.

I think realistically, your shooting comparison needed to do the brass vs. Im kit.

Nah, it’s good as is. Everyone with dsr has the I’m kit. And the steel sfr is what jack recommends

The geo is the king of spool smoothness, but my dark with a method bolt is more consistent: there’s a reason why I’ve sold all my other markers!

Consistent? What do you mean? Velocity wise? Geo is very consistent, has more to do with paint quality
@derek6362-v6j2 ай бұрын
@@JP-om3ouagreed. My r5 is extremely consistent even with trash field paint
@brandonstevens44852 ай бұрын
@@JP-om3ou to an extent yes, but my dsr with method bolt is tighter shot to shot than my geo is. It’s seriously like +/-3 with mid paint.

Idk but I hear the same thing every time a new maker comes out and when I shoot all of them they all shoot the same not one is more accurate then the other and the lv2 is still the best smoother shot

dye will probably figure out the the detent issue eventually but I think that needs to be fixed before really knowing how mxr's will perform in the long run but most dsr's seem to be smoother than mxr's and I shot an r5 that was smoother than my dsr+
@matwey967Ай бұрын
In the end, the GEO is both cheaper and better because, with all the DYE upgrades, the price ends up being the same. Don't get me wrong-I don't hate DYE. I've been a fan since 2012. But after the release of the CS1 and LV1.6, which resolved the solenoid issues in older models, Planet Eclipse really nailed it. Honestly, I think there’s no better high-end marker on the market right now. Between the CS3 and the GEO R5, the CS3 stands out as the more robust option, performing exceptionally well in both cold and warm weather. That said, the trigger is a downside-the Luxe and the new Shocker ERA offer a far superior trigger feel.

Anything Planet Eclipse makes is far better than the highest end DYE Marker ever made. Let's see if it takes DYE over 10 years to figure out how to make a better marker lmao

The DSR+ is the single best mid end on the market aftet they implemented the IM Pro kit. You're easily spending twice as much on anything new PE comes out with. You can have 2 loaded DSR+ for the price of an R5
@bobbycarpenter47062 ай бұрын
@IAmBennyy the 180R is the undisputed king of the midrange market. the dsr+ is better than anything dyes put out in years but don't kid yourself it's doesn't touch the 180R
@IAmBennyy2 ай бұрын
@@bobbycarpenter4706 I'd hardly say that either. It's the 170r with a new-ish core? Same shitty squishy trigger. New barrel system. It's no different from the DM14 to the DM15 imo. And yes I'll agree, the DSR+ is the best thing Dye has put out in a long long time.
@bobbycarpenter47062 ай бұрын
@@IAmBennyythe trigger on the 170/180 is not great, but it's still lightyears ahead of the dsr stock trigger. The video shows that, he had a hard time keeping it ramping because it's so bad on the stock dsr+ New in box to new in box the 180R is head and shoulders above anything else. Now, a used dsr+ with I'm pro and a bwing trigger it's a hell of alot closer. My point is to make them comparable you're paying 1240 before taxes for a nib dsr+ with necessary upgrades, and 900 for a 180R.
@IAmBennyy2 ай бұрын
@@bobbycarpenter4706 to each their own. I don't mind the DSR+ stock trigger, I just can't get over the 170r/Geo 4/180r stock blade trigger. CS2 trigger is top tier, but the stock on the others is trash imo. I get what you're saying though for comparable markers.
