i picked up this figure based on this review alone and i think it's incredible. very solid (it was cold to the touch on the bottom half because of all the die cast. posability is pretty good as well an just beautiful throughout

love this guy, I have him displayed with all my MMC figures. Only issue I would say is the ratchets on the wings aren't strong enough to hold up the blue piece you install. Overall good solid figure.

This one is also supposed to be the IDW version. You can tell immediately by the wings, and then looking closer at the rest of the details

Some little details bother me: In robot mode, the hollow legs and the dragon legs hanging off of the forearms. The dragon mode is pretty nice.

if theres a thang that planet x do nicely with their beast-formers, its the beast tail. One of the few producers to put some nicely articulated tails that completely hides away in bot mode.

Looks good! Scale wise this guy would be shorter than Star Saber who is armored. Deathsaurus is just an individual bot, would be a bit taller than Galvatron. So MP scale this guy is a little short but by maybe a head or two. He's taller than should be for CHUG, but I guess he could fit in both.

But in series, Deszaras is equal in height to Star Saber's full Star Saber form (i.e. combined with the V-Star). Since it's a Transformers series, scale can be a bit wonky but that's quite consistent. They're roughly equal in height and both Combiner-sized. Now I'm okay with him not scaling against MP Star Saber because he's clearly based on his much smaller IDW counterpart, but I was hoping for something that can stand toe-to-toe with my MP Saber.

That's a shame, this looked like the first planet x figure I would pick up .... right untill it scaled up against star saber and litteraly falls a bit short.....

G1 Smokescreen well, the FOC/WFC well is starting to dry up. I’m not sure, but last time I checked, they’ve already done a good majority of the characters already. Also it’s good that they’re doing some IDW characters. It creates competition with MMC. Which I’m also fine with seeing

They have a LOT more Characters Arcee Slipstream Jetfire Silverbolt Airraid Breakdown Shockwave Soundwave WFC Optimus WFC Megatron Zeta Prime The Combaticons Hound Quake Wheeljack Demolisher Deadend Scattershot Dragstrip Jazz.etc The list goes on and on They could also do the DS designs such as Rodimus/Hotrod, The coneheads, Motormaster, Cyclonus.etc

I normally love PX's stuff and dragon based Transformers but this is way too boxy/geometric for my tastes. The wing options are good but after FT's Mega Dragon this just seems lazy and unfinished especially with the gaping hole left by the breast master griffin thing. I'll stick with my ZOIDS Deathsaurus! lol.

I agree this just doesn't look good to me. Not sure where they are going with scale either? I had figured he would be 3p/CHUGish but he seems too big. Way too small and aesthetically off for MP.

PX usually does War for Cybertron video game aesthetics but looks like they tried to mix this one with his IDW look.

It does look a bit rushed, the tolerances look a bit scary in spots too. I'd have wanted a sprung cover over his Breastmaster bay, (or failing that a central shield boss gap cover) 2 Breastmasters would have been better too. The Lion like sidekick is a bit underwhelming too. Design-wise that could have done with ball jointed shoulders and ankles - and perhaps a compression joint on the torso to make it less wide in beast mode. (or a hinge so the torso can act as part of the wings) the wings could have done with an extra joint to). Overall if I rush to buy this will depend on the price. ( I went and looked) - Not exactly feeling the $135.00 Price tag. I think I'd rather spend the money on MMC's Sky Lynx

@Doctor Tophat When I say CHUGish I primarily mean Reformated/X-dimesion/Planet-X/ old Igear and TFC. '3p/CHUG" more 3p not MP. I guess I'm looking at him being close to Tarn in height and this looks way bigger than MMC Tarn, but way small next to MP Starsaber.

Way too small.. Should be same size as Star Saber. Pass for me. Too bad though, because I love the figure. I wanted to have both head to head and thats never gonna happen with this figure.
