Man oh man, what a timely [well, if I'd seen it 3 days ago] video! I manually rotoscoped a shot the other day, to put my logo behind my windshield and helmet, with varying levels of Blend since the windshield is translucent... and that was 3 polygon masks, hand-drawn over stuff, and I missed something in the shot. Less than 10 minutes with 2 Magic Masks and viola - perfectly done! Thanks, Jay!

Awesome! It’s totally worth the studio version, especially if you want to get deeper into VFX, and even color grading.

Nice process! I would also reduce the opacity or change the blend type of the planets so some of the main planet's clouds would appear to be in front of them. Would also reduce the saturation a bit to emulate UV haze. Also reduce the opacity of the bottom of the planets even more as atmosphere does. But this process is solid.
