You should bind a key to "analogue throttle" for aircraft. Pushing it will immediately cut all of your forward thrust, and it makes transitioning into a reverse maneuver a lot faster and easier than by holding down "s".

Reaver: Default (35) can one clip an ESF Mossi: max upgraded (60) will one clip Sythe: Default is (40) around the same as the Mossi but a slower RoF In this order is the balance of the 3 ESFs

Yesterday I was on a big open place on Esamir repairing my Reaver and saw a Scythe on the radar, entered the reaver, did a backflip and shot down the Scythe, he was not expecting that :P

At 0:12, why are you pressing 'A' for the barrel roll manoeuvre? To make you harder to hit or something? Can't recall hearing that in the video for the barrel roll...

Hey, I'm having a lot of trouble keeping the thrusters in that down position.. I find after verticle thrusting my thrusters then resume their position in the horizontal position causing me to thrust forward, any ideas?

Well , the reaver's rotary is over powered , u could own any dog fight with it ...

at only 25 shells per clip and 33 fully upgraded its a definite high risk high reward as one-two bursts of the gun will leave you reloading, it favors those who can aim and punishes those who can't, so its not as overpowered as you think.

At close combats u don't need to be too precise , hold down the trigger and boom ...

you do know that this is mounted on an air vehicle right? one clip isn't going to do the job unless that esf your firing on is already at half health. even then that's only in the most perfect situations, I would rather have the sythe's stock gun than the rotary for air-to-air dog fights. The no bullet drop really helps for using it in long range alpha engagements

Deathcap Rabadon I ran into many situations where i lost almost all of my mousy's health due to a reaver back-reaping me with one clip , and in close distance dog fights u don't really need the no-drop of the scythe's base gun , i know that every ESF has it's own good points , but the reaver's good point , which is the rotary , is the most over powered .

I have all the maneuvers pretty much mastered. what I really need help/tips with is accuracy with my vortec. I find it increasingly difficult to lead esfs and/or engage from longer ranges

I have 58 hours in a scythe so far, I can keep up with most pilots' maneuvers in a 1v1 dogfight, but my problem is my aim sucks. I have so much trouble maneuvering AND aiming at the same time, and I just end up spraying a lot of the time and just chipping at their health slowly, while they pull some crazy maneuvers and tear me apart with every shot in their magazine hitting :/

Showing what keys you were pressing while doing those maneuvers really helped a lot. I've actually improved a bit in my reaver thanks to this. Though I've only flown in the VR training area but still, an improvement is an improvement.

Hello Sir! Awesome piloting you have going on there, I'd need a better PC in order to train to be this good because the FPSlag prevents me from getting anything done. However I'll be using these maneuvers from now on in an attempt to gain superiority. Which performance chassis are you using? One for high acceleration and/or ascent speed?

Great vids, I have only one question: Is third person view better for maneuvering? Because when I fly in first person, I feel the plane, but in third person I only see it. I know a lot of people feel safer in third person, but I am the opposite, I suck big times while flying in third person view.

When i fly with my A2AMs equipped, i find that if the guy i fired the missile at flies towards me, the missile breaks off a 100% of the times without fail. Best tactic to win versus an A2AMer is to turn and fight him, if you run you're fukd since its very easy to lock on then

I have no aim when I fly. Thats my main issue. I am a good flyer but I don't have the tight twitch control for the dogfighting part. I've successfully done stuff like the barrel roll turn but I can't follow up with any kind of accuracy, so I die anyway.

Pitching down helps to encourage the thrusters into locked down position. The other thing that helps is hours and hours behind the wheel (joystick?). Get your preferred airframe maxed out so you don't have to relearn the sensitivity and touch of your Reaver.

I have been playing dogfighting games for a long long time, especially Ace Combat and HAWX series, and I can tell you have done the same thing. This barrel roll turn is a common tactic used in Ace Combat multiplayer. Keep UP the good work, mate..Cheers :)

I'm a horrible pilot. I use my reavers as a transport. I fly to the battle, crash it into a mountain and respawn at the sunderer. Thanks for these guides, I might actually one day start using them to fight with.
