1. Think about General Idea. Identify target audience. 2. What is your personal goal? 3. Give yourself deadlines. 4. Get someone to make it accountable. Announce it on twitter. 5. Focus on MVP! 6. Breakdown big tasks and Focus on one thing at a time. Use trello or github projects to maintain a list. 7. Dont be afraid to ask help 8. Dont be afraid to watch tutorial. As long as you're learning skills. 9. Sketch it out! 10. Bring people with complementary skills. 11. Ship out MVP and be ready to change things based on feedback

There is also Proof of Concept stage (POC) - the raw product that more or less solves the major pain point of your audience while MVP is a more complete production-ready product that can be shown to investors. POC - 1-2 weeks MVP - ~1-2 months

This was really good information especially the MVP part. A lot of developers like it to be perfect but the most important part of an application is getting feedback from the end-user and rebuilding or modifying from there.

@@abe10 yeah that's a good idea definitely. Check out front end mentor too. There are a bunch of designs to choose from and they provide you with all the SVGs and assets you'd need thus making it more like a real work environment where you'd in theory be supplied with all the design materials up front. I did many of those and it was great practice for me to develop a good workflow with my toolkit of choice, which was in this case React.

this is something i really struggle with. for the life of me, i cant sit down for a minute and think about pseudo code, i'd just rather start building and think as i go. this never works out.
@nobytes2
@nobytes2 3 жыл бұрын
pseudo code is really meant for algorithm ideas without writing actual code. For an app idea just use plain English. App should do this when it launches. If a user clicks here it should do this, and so on. The main idea when designing an app is to have clear steps, not necessarily pseudo code.

No Bytes like what do you mean
@nobytes2
@nobytes2 3 жыл бұрын
@@chadbaker9514 I mean for small projects just plan out the big overall points in trello or whatever you like, it doesn't have to down to every single detail, but it needs to be clear on what you want to accomplish. I wouldn't sit down and write down pseudo code for that part though. For actual projects best thing for do is an actual SDD software design document.
