I tend to over pack. That's my biggest flaw on trips. I pack old clothes. Wear them a few days then pitch them. As for a good nights sleep? Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it doesn't. I remember going to Sturgis about ten yrs ago with some buds. I worked third shift. As soon as I got off work I rushed home and jumped on my bike which I had packed up the day before. We rode about twelve hrs. So I had been up for quite a while but the adrenalin rush was keeping me going.

Also think of the not so obvious stuff. A spare battery for your keyfob. A 30 Amp main fuse for your bike. Your set of tools, including some long ty-raps, a long metal wire, a copper electric wire and a small 12 volt tester. I also carry a tiny 12 volt booster, that has the size of a fat smartphone but can start a big motorcycle, and it holds a LED light and has also USB for charging my smartphone. Don't forget your Go-Pro charger and spare batteries. Have a nice trip!

In a little over a month. I will be riding to Ohio to go camping. My best friend will carry my tent and canopy for me. I will be carrying my bag, chair, cot and clothes. He is pulling his camper. Cause he is taking his family. But I am riding. Have fun on your trip and be careful.

Talk about dumb people my son and I went to americade in lake George NY . We were on our way home Sunday morning I have a road glide ultra 2019 and my son a 2023 low rider S we were doing 75 with the Cruz control on and traffic was moving great there were a lot of bikes also on the road . We were motoring along and passed a group of guys on the shoulder of the road as we continue we passed another small group less then 100 yards they all seemed to be together . We started slowing down around 70 when a car shot into the left lane everyone hit there brakes I slammed on mine but realized I wasn’t going to be able to stop so I looked quick to my right and had a small opening between the car in the right lane and the car I was about to hit so I let up on the brakes and just missed the car in front of me the guy to my right seen what was happening and slowed down giving me the lane apparently a rider on a trike decided to make a u turn on the NYS thruway and almost caused a major accident. My son took the left opening and ran on the shoulder of the passing lane . Imagine making a u turn on the NYS Thruway the guy could have killed himself and would have possibly takin me with him. Ride safe keep a safe distance so you have time to react to any situation and keep your head on a swivel because you never know. Ride safe and enjoy.

Why do you like wearing a full face helmet on a touring bike? I am not criticizing, I would like to know why people like the helmet they wear. I wear a full face helmet on my enduro due to the wind, bugs and other flying objects, but it makes me feel like I am riding in a car, which I don't enjoy. When riding my touring bike, the less helmet I wear the more wild and free I feel, which helps the true motorcycle feel.
